SJ it was loads of fun - all the fun of shoe shopping without the sting in the wallet :D

Just put Molly back into her own bed and not in ours. The shrieking is very upsetting but we shall overcome.

    Lovely pictures :)

And once again, goodnight all - we're off to snuggle. In our own bed. Without a nosy little witness.

    Susan/Beenie

This isn't very good as I just wrote it stream-of-consciousness and have made no effort to edit it or tidy it, but my letter would look vaguely like this

    Dear xx.

I am writing today to register a complaint regarding one of your housing officers, Jane Doe, and the way in which she handled a noise issue I raised to your council.

Overall I believe that Jane Doe was unprofessional, abusive and failed to follow your guidelines on complaint handling.
I am a young single mother with two children aged 1 and 7 living at a council property (99, Downing Street) and while I understand that not all complaints will be resolved to the satisfaction of all parties, I feel strongly that not only did Jane Doe fail to investigate in the manner outlined on your website, she actually made matters significantly worse for me as detailed below.

I would be more than happy to discuss the full details either by phone or in person but the key points are listed below:

    • Time taken from my first complaint logged on 1st January and the visit from Jane Doe was 1000 days – unacceptably long especially without adequate communication in the interim
    • From the start, Jane Doe did not take my complaints and information seriously, instead making comments including but not limited to:
o “You’re making this complaint because you want to move house”
o “Your ex-partner [recently found guilty of assault against me] will still be able to find you even if you move house”
o This latter comment in particular scared me and left me deeply disturbed for several days, at a time when I was trying to recover from the difficulties of the attack on me by my ex-partner
    • At no time during the investigation was I given any information (regarding progress or resolution) unless I repeatedly called and asked, despite promises both on your website and verbally from Jane Doe that I would be kept informed
    • Jane Doe unapologetically swore during our discussions, in front of my 7 year old son
    • I was never offered any advice or support beyond “try to ignore the noise” – no mention of a noise diary as advised on your website, no referral to other parts of the council who could help me
    • Her "investigation" at the time of her visit was at best perfunctory and bore all the marks of someone 'going through the motions' to keep me quiet.

Needless to say, the noise situation – which is intolerable when in sole care of two young children for whom regular sleep is vital – has in no way improved and I now feel that if I seek assistance again from your office I will be made to feel a liar and someone undeserving of the basic rights outlined in your Nuisance Behaviour definition.

I would appreciate a chance to discuss the damage done by Jane Doe further, and the re-opening of this investigation with a new Housing Officer assigned who does not automatically assume that single mothers in council properties are lying schemers who encourage foul language in their children.

    Yours sincerely, etc
  • Looks good Bruno.

Off to watch a film with hubby. Might be back, might not ;)

    Evening everyone

Thanks for the links yesterday, but I needed one directly to the WHO website really which stated the calorie intake for adults/children! I have scoured the site myself but couldn't find what I was after...

Can't stop as I am busy, busy. I have chatted to dh and he was very lovely and understanding, he said he already knew everything I was saying and wasn't cross or annoyed with me, I thought he might accuse me of being stupid/callous/emotionless etc but he didn't, he was and is great:)

I have a huge list of jobs that need doing so am trying to get through them....have spent most of this evening sorting photos out on computer and emailing my mum a load, she has been hassling me for a while to send her some, she wants to put them on her digital photo frame. I have also done loooooaaaaads of paperwork sorting and filing, still quite a lot to do though. I also have a whhole bin bag of 3-6 mth clothes to sort through that I have been given, I want to work out what I want to keep and what I don't......then I have 5 bin bags of clothes on the landing upstairs to sort through and list on ebay!!!!!! I am also proof reading a first draft of a book, that my mum's boyfriend is hoping to get published.

Must go will try and catch up tomorrow

Hope you are all well and love to you all for all your support and kind words xx

    Lovely pics of Elliot :)

    Looks like everyone has gone!

I really need to go pack for Scotland seeing as we are leaving first thing  So I'm off to do that now then go to bed. It's been a great week but I am tired and i will be glad of the rest next week.

I am taking the lappy with me to MIL's but can't very well be using it the whole time we are away so will only be popping in and out until next weekend.

Hope everyone has a great week with lots of sleep, mummy cuddles, mummy and daddy cuddles ( ;) ), refunds, disappearing spots, good luck with child minders / nurseries, interesting jury services, fun pregnancy things, positive chats with OHs, and anything else they may desire!!! :D

Kindof - v cute pics :) looks like E likes his Bumbo, T looks lost in hers still

EA - hope your dad is ok x

Me and OH have decided we need a 3 wheel pushchair with inflatable three. Would be so much better for the walks we are doing ATM. Been looking on eBay but OH was saying we could get a new one if we could find for arouund £120. Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations as mothercare is crap for 3 wheelers unless you want a travel system!

  • I'm back briefly :D

We watched The Time Traveller's Wife and I don't think hubby was prepared for how good the story was and how weepy he would be. He says he feels drained.

Strange for me because I was reading the book when I was in labour/in hospital/at home being a new mummy so it is mingled with many hormones and memories

    Gorgeous pics!

    Night all xx

Hmmmm, I read so many reviews about this book and they often said it was waaaay to slow to get going so I haven't bothered to read it. Did you think that too MFD?

Grrrr D has woken up every hour since 8 and is currently thinking 2am is a really great time to get up and play. I disagree :(. Guess who is currently winning the 'debate' :o
