Yay for teeth (we still just have the 1)

3 - oh, sounds good but you couldn't have picked a worse week weather wise! Hope you get lovely weather when you go to Scotland :)

The pox seem to be getting better but I'm wondering if its the calm before the storm :o They are bad on his bum, armpits, hands and feet with a couple on his face but nothing on his chest or back yet. He is very clingy, throwing himself about but at least he's eating now and is sleeping lots.
Am religiously giving him the Rhus Tox, paracetamol/Nurofen, anti-histamine, slapping the cream on each pox and tonight gave him another oat bath, it really does help if you strain it through a muslin! Last night I just threw the oats in the water :o it did nothing! :rotfl:

Seen something online about oat baths and it recommends whizzing up the oats in a blender / food processor to a powder then adding to the bath water. Not sure if this helps anyone :)

Would a raincover be covered under a pram guarantee?

Hubby managed to rip the Oyster cover today...

Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

An update on my nans living arrangement decisions - I have managed to convince her that an assisted flat would be better than a home, thank god, and given her some phone number of some places to ring tomorrow :)

I dont really watch at for salt levels in food that S eats. if he eats toast for breakfast and a sandwich for lunch he will have almost exceeded the recommended amounts for children of his age! When he's at the CM's he eats a toddler tray for dinner, when he's here he sometimes eats what we eat, if we're eating dinner later I whip him up something like cheesy veggy pasta or chicken dippers/fishfingers/veggy fingers and some mini waffles! As long as he eats it and enjoys it I'm easy.

Oh, and yes, I agree its the day for teeth. I noticed this morning S had another 3 just poking through the gums, that means he now only has 1 to come through!

I don't think oat baths had been invented when my two had them!

J was 4ish and L 16 months ish. I do remember L having a lot more spots than J. In her mouth and her flower - not nice!

Last night they just bobbed about in the water but tonight I put them in a clean muslin and ran it under the tap and really squeeeeeeeeezed it so the bath water went all cloudy and the whole of the upstairs smells like porridge!

Was a bit scary tonight because as I was doing it I turned around and Jack was climbing up the side of the bath and was about to fall in
He was like a monkey with his feet halway up the bath panel and his arms hooked over the side of the bath.

Right must go, I've done nothing in preparation for work tomorrow and OH is staying off with Jack so need to leave medicine instructions! ;)

SJ - I tried the whizzing the oats, it wasn't as effective as straining it through the muslin.

Oh, AND I used to nick money from my parents to buy chocolate/crisps because we were never allowed any.

My school friend was like that. Their mother was into natural foods, so they were never allowed any processed foods or junk food. They even took home made food to parties in case any junk food dared to pass their lips.

Once we were at secondary school, my friend just went crazy on sweets and crisps etc and ended up piling on loads of weight. Then got into a cycle of binge eating because she was depressed because she was fat and ended up really mixed up mentally.

I know that is a really extreme example, but it makes me wary of banning foods from my lot.
Mel, I was reading the TES forums last night (to see if whiteboard pens would be an insult!) and most of the teachers on there said a card with a heatfelt message from a pupil or parent was the best thing.

James did that. His teacher has provided a lot of extra help this year as I said. He bought her a teacher from Oxfam unwrapped and wrote a message in the card. He thanked her for being the best teacher ever and said he would never forget her. He explained he was buying her a teacher so other children would be as lucky as him as they would get a great teacher. I was nearly in tears when I read it, and apparantly the teacher was too :o

I didn't see any flouncing. I did however see your post this morning before you editied it and suggest that maybe you have had a rough day and have taken innocent comments out of context.

I haven't taken any innocent comments out of context? It's someone else who has twisted my words and flounced off, not me.

Thanks for having a go at me as well though by adding your incorrect assumptions. That's really helpful.
Here I go again on my own....
