You have never really said much at all to me, so I don't feel I know you all that well, but I am genuinely sorry that you have taken my original post out of context. But don't think that you can say what you like about me without any comeback.

To be fair it's not really much of an apology when you add a threat on the end :(

All I did was explain why I felt upset. I haven't attacked you at all?

I'm still not sure what I did to deserve your wrath this evening, but hope you get whatever is bothering you sorted out.

I'm off to bed now as I've got a busy day tomorrow - night all xx
Here I go again on my own....

Hi everyone, just popping on quickly before I go to bed.

GISI Glad u had a good car boot, that book looks good, we were given a board book with touchy feely bits in it and T really likes touching them now. Did u see my post thanking u for the fairy post, if not, thank u, it arrived safely :)

Been out for a carvery earlier with DH family. T was kept well entertained by everyone and didn't see a lot of him tbh!! Glad he is happy to go off with his aunties etc though and we are not in sight, hoping that bodes well for when he starts nursery!!

Ello must be eating tons of salt if theres a lot in garlic bread, thats her favourite food (well maybe equal with cherries)

Millie and El have never been to Macdonalds but like Ladybird says thats just because I don't ever go in there.

Has anyone seen any cheap whiteboard pens anywhere? I'm thinking of home bargains or poundland maybe? and a cheap lockable box in which to put said whiteboard pens? Millie has decided that that is the perfect present for her teacher so I'm going to have to make a special trip to get some on Tuesday (I was hoping she'd be happy with a bottle of wine from the shop opposite school!)
avoid asda's cheap own brand WB pens! we tried to save pennies at work buying them but they were crap!!
I was thinking something like THIS but not sure where you could get at short notice :s what about a small hand bag or one of those waterproof things you put your keys in on holiday you could use a sharpie to decorate it with Miss wotsits pens and she can wear it around her neck to keep them safe and quick n easy to use them? Asda etc should have those in at the mo
Yes unfortunately it does, thats kind of the point of the present to make sure that Miss Haley always has her own whiteboard pens that no one has nicked or run out.

I don't normally bother with teachers pressies I usually just get a card but Millie came up with this idea herself so I'd like to do it.

Mel, I was reading the TES forums last night (to see if whiteboard pens would be an insult!) and most of the teachers on there said a card with a heatfelt message from a pupil or parent was the best thing.
I totally agree with the nice card thing, my mum has a collection of lovely cards from her 20+ years of working at school!!

    (apologies in advance!)

    Day in the life:

    5.30am
    Wake to pee. Doze til

    6.30am-9am
Entertain tetchy toddler. Serve breakfast at 6.45. Serve second breakfast at 8am. Lie on floor to have trains run up and down legs. Sit on floor to have alphabet blocks thrown at head, Read book about Pippo the monkey 5 times. Sing happy songs to derail building tantrum after refusing to open the garden door at 7am.

    9am-10am
Drive toddler to farmer's market. Confirm numbers 8, 9 and 10 on playground hopscotch markings, seven times. Buy a nice roast, collect change after one lap of market pursuing toddler. Buy croissants and at last minute one slightly-pawed brownie from the edge of the stand.

    10am-11am
Take toddler to park and playground. Sit on 'train' roof praising his driving skills through window into booth. Lean over climbing frame top to encourage him not to leap off the 5' drop. Push him on 'big boy' swing until he falls off. Cuddle him.

    11am-1pm
Return home; wake pregnant OH with tea and chocolate croissant. Begin rearranging furniture in bedroom. Stop to feed toddler lunch. Haul superking dense latex 59kg mattress single-handedly across room. Assemble superking bed-frame ("2 adults recommended for assembly"), stopping to greet toddler and praise him for bringing me my sunglasses. Stopping to greet toddler and ask him not to touch the toolbox. Stopping to cuddle sobbing toddler and carry him back to mama. Stopping to tidy nursery before nap time. Run laundry.

    1pm-3pm
While toddler naps, take OH's favourite maternity trousers from last pregnancy to dry-cleaners to be repaired; take 6 shirts to dry-cleaners for dry-cleaning; return 5 library books; take 3 pairs of jeans which will never fit to the charity shop; buy milk (4 pints skimmed, 4 pints full fat), bread, yogurt, petit filous, peppers, cous cous, from Sainsburys Local. Hang laundry out on line. Run laundry2.

    3pm-4pm
Realise that underside of mattress is badly discoloured and mildewy. Rant about possibly throwing away £400 mattress. Unzip mattress cover. Spend 10 minutes trying to get 59kg tearable, fragile latex mattress out of cover. Throw away fist-sized chunks of mattress. Put mattress cover in bath. Hang laundry2 out on line, take laundry1 in. Run laundry3.

    4pm-5pm
Assemble slats for bed. Soak mattress cover with washing powder. Run dark green-brown water out of bath and soak again in carpet shampoo. Run dark green-brown water out and soak again in carpet shampoo, while walking up and down kneading it with feet. Run light green-brown water out and soak again in carpet shampoo while walking up and down kneading it with feet, stopping to thank toddler for coming in and wiping my knees with dishcloth. Leave it to soak a bit longer.

    5pm-6pm
Sweep and clean kitchen. A bit. Still not very good but cleaner. Lie on nursery floor to allow trains to be run up and down legs. Sit on nursery floor to allow trains to be run through tunnel made by knees. Read book about Pippo the monkey 5 times.

    6pm-7pm
Spend 15 minutes walk-kneading light brown-green water out of mattress cover, stopping to tell toddler not to climb into bath. Stopping to wipe feet and pick up sobbing toddler to take him to mama for comfort. Pick up completely sodden dripping mattress cover, stagger out into garden. Throw cover over line. Spend 5 minutes stretching and re-tying broken washing line. Throw cover over fence. Ponder sleep with no mattress.

    7pm-9pm
Start cooking procedures to be told house smells too "chemically" (carpet shampoo) and we can't eat in. Walk to new tapas bar. Spend £46 on meal for two at new trendy, overpriced tapas bar, stopping to walk toddler up and down street on 3 occasions. Walk home carrying exhausted toddler.

    9pm-10pm
Inspect mattress cover in garden. Wrestle fragile, breakable latex mattress without cover back onto bed. Throw away fist sized chunks of foam. Arrange covers.

    10pm-11pm
Hot bath. Beer. Climb into bed. Spend 5 minutes wrestling fragile, breakable latex mattress without cover out of the way to rearrange bed slats to ensure increased stability and less collapses. Sleep.

    5.20am
Wake up as bed slats give way beneath me and mattress collapses. Watch with interest as OH wakes and rolls over to see what is happening, as slats on her side collapse.
