Katie loves porridge - Ready Brek (Aldi's own) in the week or proper porridge at the weekend.

My food concern - getting enough fruit and veg into her, especially when DH is looking after her as he doesn't eat them so doesn't offer them to Katie. If it was left up to him she'd live on cheese toasties.

Does your DH know my DH?! :rotfl:That's pretty much all he ate before we got together.

Anyway, I am going back to lurking as it looks like I have upset Becles.

I think your tone on this post is inflammatory and childish to be perfectly honest, and I don’t actually care if I have now upset you as you clearly have no desire to be civil to me.

That was a quick lurk! Thanks for the update - much appreciated.
Becles thats so sweet, it makes such a difference when they have a teacher they respect doesn't it?

It does. I was so chewed up and worried this time last year, especially after all the other stuff that happened to him. Been a tough year and we've all worked hard, and I'm so thankful to the teacher for her support. He's going off to secondary school much more confident now.
Here I go again on my own....

I spotted your Nan dilema last night while I popped on for a catch up.

My Nan sold her house and moved to a sheltered flat about 15 years ago, after her 2nd husband died - it was the best thing she ever did. She met her next two boyfriends there at the social events (she keeps outliving them :p) and met lots of friends.

She's 83ish now, and losing her marbles (Queen Boadicea was in the garden one day last week!) so a nursing home is looking likely, but she's had more fun in the last 15 years than she would have if she was rattling round in her big house on her own.
That sounds brilliant, like exactly what she needs. I know I probably shouldnt laugh but cant help :rotfl: @ Queen Boadicea in the garden!

    *feels rather uncomfortable :o*

SJ, sometimes the gums swell up after the tooth has popped through so it looks like they've gone back in again... :)
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

My Granny moved into a warden controlled flat about five years ago and it was a great move for her. There's always some scandal going on for them to gossip about. They have fish and chips once a week, coffee mornings, all sorts! They also go on organised trips and to disabled keep fit. My Granny is 98 by the way!

When I met my DH he was living in his bedroom in the house he owned with his ex whilst his ex and her new man had the run of the rest of the house. All he ate was crisps, ham and cheese pizza, chips, tea and beer!

Once we'd been together a couple of months I dragged him to Iceland and put a few more things in the freezer, mainly garlic filled food as his ex hated garlic. Oh and we used to help ourselves to her Woolie pick n' mix when she wasn't around, she spent loads each week filling a HUGE bowl with it.

My Grandad was moved into a lovely nursing home after a couple of strokes left him needing care. The lounge had huge windows overlooking the grounds.

There is lurking and there is keeping quiet whilst someone unreasonably insults you. I have never said anything bad to you Becles. I have shown the usual concern when you have been down, and enjoyed your posts about Charlotte etc. You have never really said much at all to me, so I don't feel I know you all that well, but I am genuinely sorry that you have taken my original post out of context. But don't think that you can say what you like about me without any comeback.

I am sorry to the rest of you for making people feel uncomfortable. This will be an end to it on my part. x

I had to tell OH off for making 'Uuuuuurrrrrgggggg' sounds as she was eating her brocolli today. And he's ok at giving her fruit, but doesn't help by pulling faces as she eats it!

I'm trying to drum into him that him doing looks of dislike while giving her fruit won't help!

It's ok, we laughed too - we don't know what else to do.

Her first husband is also visiting her and sitting on the end of her bed at night - he died in 1971! (along with a group of children running around her flat at night).,

and someone is bringing a roll of lino into her hallway at night, and moving it back out in the morning before she can catch them.,

and someone emptied her wardrobe the other day, took it all to the laundrette, and brought it back when she wasn't looking.

    Apart from that, she's ok!

It's quite odd that sometimes she seems really normal and knows these things ^ are mad. :(

I tell DH off for picking bits out and leaving them on his plate! The other one I jump on him is language especially when he's just finished work - we're living with a little parrot! What's funny is she more likely to copy me saying "language!" than anything else.
