worst night of my life

Hi Stephy - amazing what a bit of silliness can do - have a read of Having fun with Debitas ! That's guaranteed to put things in perspective!
I'm sorry your parents are causing you grief. As so many have said, you aren't giving your Dad a heart attack. That's just them trying to transfer some of what they're feeling onto you. It's a shock to them: they're going to take a while to get used to the idea, whereas you've been used to it, dealt with it and are moving on.
The combination of tiredness, drink & nighttime is a dangerous one (in more than one circumstance). Physically, emotionally, mentally - we're all programmed to hit a slump at night. I know things were so difficult for you this morning too, but you got online, you found help, you were strong and you made the call. Go you! Then you had a bad time earlier this evening - but things often do seem worse at night. It's not a good time to take stock because it gives an unrealistically bad reading, IYSWIM.
Is the bird still there? When it gets to daylight it may work out where the window is and head for it. They go towards light. If not you could always ask the RSPCA for advice.
RuthnJasper - I do hope he's found safe & well soon Ruth. {{hugs}}
Stephy - best of luck with it all, not that you'll need it. You're clearly on track to get yourself out of this situation.
Okay, I'm going to have a look at failblog etc. Thanks to those who posted the links!Miggy

Well, this is turning out to be the worst night of MY life. Jasper (my beloved dog) disappeared on our walk this evening. I searched for him for three hours - but he's gone. I've told the Police.
My heart is broken.I won't be getting any sleep tonight.
You're meant to leave their bed outside, helps them find their way home xx9/70lbs to lose0 -
Thanks for the tip GEEGEE8. I think I'll sleep outside myself, just in case... just wish I knew where he was; that's the worst thing of all - not knowing. xxx0

just wanted to say hang in there Stephy you are doing well. You're right it is better to be in a job you love - much easier to pay off the debt then. Parents will come round eventually - honest. You don't have to defend your every decision - it's your life and you can make you're own mistakes. It's about taking responsibility for them which makes you an adult.
Ruthy I really hope you find Jasper.0 -

Morning all.
Thank you all SO much for your love and your support. I'm incredibly sorry to have hijacked Stephy's thread with Jasper-troubles; I was just in such a state. Jasper was found by a cyclist just over an hour ago. He's a bit battered, but OK. I've had him checked by the vet and he's going to be fine. (That's Jasper, btw, not the cyclist!)

Here's a link to his blog, if anyone wants to see what a knackered dog with a guilty conscience looks like...: http://jasper-thedogsblog.blogspot.com/
Back to the main point now, after all that. Stephy - you are absolutely right to 'phone in sick today. You aren't faking anything and mustn't feel guilty - you have been through a horrendous few days (not to mention your evening with the Feathers of Fear) and you really must allow yourself the time you need to recover. If you went to your GP, I'm sure they would give you a sick note.
Good luck with your 'phone call. We'll be there, holding your hand, throughout. Let us know how it goes - and remember: you have done nothing wrong; you have nothing to be ashamed of; you are dealing sensibly with your problems and you are a very nice young woman of whom your family should feel very, very proud.
Look after yourself. Thanks again for all the nice words for me as well.
