Mike your signature on your post gives me hope. i pay 115 a month towards my debt and had always felt like i wasnt getting anywhere noticable until today when i worked out what the total was, and what it is now, £1500 paid off in nine months. so your signature makes me feel like it IS possible. well done

The magic H word -Hope. Bang on. This has been the most important lesson I've learned from working through my debts -its all about perspective. The problems are not insurmountable, but recognising them as such is hard.
I keep my sig updated so that I can see how far I'm getting through my debts, and maintain a spreadsheet so I can see how long I have left to go. Every month, every payment takes me one step closer to the finish line and its important to remember that.
Meanwhile, back to the lolcats. You can haz cheezburger!

Hey Stephy - sorry to hear your night out wasn't great - and that the "bluebird of happiness" is terrorizing you.
Well, this is turning out to be the worst night of MY life. Jasper (my beloved dog) disappeared on our walk this evening. I searched for him for three hours - but he's gone. I've told the Police.
My heart is broken.I won't be getting any sleep tonight.

i never did that because i would feel sick looking at the total still. i never realised how much i was actually paying off. gettin my charges knocked off helped too, and i still have egg and mint to apply to for that which should be another 500 or so.0

Just look at it, write it down, move on.
Hiding from it will just make you stress even more.
