Says a lot about how fab the forum is that I have been waiting for a few days to find something to report! I much prefer the new form to faffing with email.

Is it done thro the PM system? My inbox is full so does that mean I won't get an auto-response? I did get a confirmation pop up box.

Self promotion/spam post reported a few minutes ago. Auto response received quickly to my email addy.
Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed. ;)

If you quote me, don't forget the capital 'M'

Why are there the other options?

If I click the report.gif button, I'm reporting "abuse" or spam. Nothing else.

Feedback or something else belongs elsewhere, and is not an appropriate option under the "abuse" button.

    A "report user" option?

With newly registered spammers it's often pointless reporting individual posts. I just report the user profile link rather than bothering the team with multiple reports.

They have told me in the past that just reporting one post is sufficient, they will deal with multiple spammers without each post being reported (I used to report each one, which sometime took ages!).

Presumambaly as the abuse@ team are very rushed?

Cos it takes time to queue at the bar and get served remember! Therefore sometimes they can't respond as fast as they'd like to.... ;)

But I agree, no need for site feedback and registration problems.... only reason i can think of them all being there is because they only have one database built for the messages to be sent so they are all coming via the same source.....

The new form is ok but I dont need confirmation emails sent to both my registered address and my Outlook address (which you shouldn't even have as the client is no longer used)

I also do not welcome a full email detailing all the weblinks for the site and list of the FAQ's when I report a member posting on the wrong board.

If you want to stop people reporting spam or problems you are going the right way about it.

good news on the new form
i tend not to have my client open on this PC (its low spec)
so waiting for outlook to open to send a report was a pain
    this is much better :)

If you want to stop people reporting spam or problems you are going the right way about it.

If you use the default abuse subject button then you get the normal automated abuse reply. If you use the feedback subject button then you get a list of options to try to solve your problem. Someone posting on the wrong board should go to abuse as normal.

If you are reporting a serial spammer, pick one post and say they are spamming the same website in all their posts and abuse should be able to sort it from that one report. Not always perfect but like all of us, they do their best :)

It is in a trial period and I've no doubt the team will iron out any difficulties with the appropriate feedback posted on here.
