I have just been watching Watchdog on TV. Apparently they will be featuring Santander next Thursday.0

Im a bit irked with Santander myself, telling porky pies  OH got a bank charge last month (his first one ever) which they agreed to refund after I rang and asked them nicely. Lo and behold, they've helped themselves to it anyway  I rang them and they claimed they have refunded it already but I've been right back through OH's statements with a fine-tooth comb and they havent :mad:This is incredibly annoying for me as it stresses OH out (I have to deal with all his accounts due to his disability and I have to sit there and tell him all the answers to his security questions apart from the obvious which they dont like)
Bloody Santander
Incidentally, William Blessing, are you the same who writes the 'Letter from Bristol' topic on the Leicester Tigers forum?*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200 -
Sorry if this is the wrong place, but I wanted to report a problem I have just discovered with my Alliance and Leicester current account when I checked it (online) today. The statement showed an "UNDER FUNDING FEE" of £5.00 and there was an alert to say I would be charged £20 on 20th Sept for an unauthorised overdraft.
I rang A+L (using the 0870 number from a BT line) and they apologised, saying it was a glitch in the process of moving accounts over to Santander, refunded the underfunding fee and cancelled the overdraft fee.
So, good service when I phoned but the erroroneous fee was levied a month ago and athough they knew this error was occuring with some accounts they hadn't found and corrected it automatically in that time, which is slightly worrying.
Obviously I need to check more often.0 -
I have a saver account attached to my main account anyone know if it's internet only? I've had access to my account via the internet blocked (think I'm up to 5 incompetent people who say they've fixed it but haven't) I don't think my temper will hold if I get within throttling distance of another lying git from that place. Today I've finally flipped.
Is there a post about best way to complain or an organised campaign I could join?
I plan to write to the Company Secretary and threaten obtaining money by deception (a criminal charge not civil) if they don't provide me access to my account.Santander are awful - mission in life is to warn people since 17-Sep-10, 18-Sep-10 realised one of thousands.0 -
...a £30 goodwill gesture i am still waiting for. i contacted complaints at santander on the 10/07/10 they have give me the run around with more bul...t so i contacted the omudsmen they say 6 to 9 months to sort it out wonder if i should bother or move my buisness else where your views please.
Hi Allan
I had a letter apologising for the 8 week delay dealing with my complaint and enclosing detail how to go to the FSA. A few days later another letter where they said they accept no responsibility for holding £2000 of my money locked away for several weeks whilst I worried about it being returned and how long that might take!
BUT, after saying they deny any responsibility, they are sending me a cheque for £50.
So: Do let us know if you get your cheque? I shall allow them 4 weeks then issue the court proceedings I told them I would at the start of the summer when all this began. I understand the magistrates court believes £25 per hour to be a satisfactory sum for compensating people for their time. If I have to write again that cost will increase further!

Are there any Alliance and Leicester customers here who used to receive comprehensive monthly account statements from A&L but, since the Santander takeover, now only receive a basic statement showing the account totals?
How does one go about getting Santander to recommence sending out detailed statements as used to be the case? Have tried asking Santander a number of times but to no avail.
Thanks0 -

if he follows the news on his company he surely must have seen all the complaints about Santander.
if he worked for a "proper company" they would communicate with the staff and advise them of any problems arising internally in the company that affects customers......
The lady behind the till said she knew about the issues with the migration and that she get's complaints every day about it.
So how Darren could not know about the issues is beyond me....I think he's lying
Just want to add that I have now complained to the FSO about Santander...their last letter to me just said "sorry our customer service has not been up to the usual standard...here's £30 which will be credited within the next 7 day".
Needless to say, the mini statement I got today shows that £30 has NOT been credited to my account...and the letter was sent over 2 weeks ago.
I don't get their lack of consistency!
We were offered £25 compensationm so £5 less than you. How do they decide how much to offer each customer? BUT, ours was credited immediately. Maybe they just roll some dice!0 -
So, we've now received compensation for 'unacceptable levels of customer service'. This has been credited very promptly. But, we'd already lost faith so have opened an account with first direct, the only problem is A & L haven't given them DD information, this has been requested three times!
Looking forward to Watchdog!0 -
I didn't trust them with giving Natwest my dd info so I moved them myself, much less hassle!Debt free and staying that way! :beer:0

I thought I was only receiving an account summary from Santander but found that the details of my transactions were on the reverse of the page.
There is in my opinion no logic to this and it took me a couple of statements to realise where the detailed information was now being shown! Not Rachmaninov
