Still don't feel very excited about it!!

(Blimey I really am Mrs Miserable today!)

Even the arrival of my Vistaprint stamps and pen today didn't cheer me up! My business cards are on the way as well apparently.

I expect I'll be excited about it when I see how much time its going to save me!

avon suggest you leave them 2-3 nights only. seems to work for me when its people who havent ordered. my regular customers get the book 5-7 days. And yeah you can put your 12 books to the people who didnt see it and the 13 to people who did. :)

I need to go collect all my regulars books today and just CBA! its 100 books across a 3 mile territory and now my replacements have turned up this morning so i have 7 deliveries to do too!!! :( I'm fed up of missing items too!! specially cos u have to make an extra trip and tell customers it was missing etc and always seems to be same ones!!

Got a doctors appointment at 3:30 so gonna have to stop to go to that too! luckily DD is with her dad today so i dont have a toddler screaming she doesnt like avon everywhere!! BUT i coulda done with the buggy to lean on.. :rotfl:

Hi I give the first lot of houses 5 days and the second lot 7 days, but I have a lot less houses to do then you. I think as suggested 2-3 days is fine, if customers havn't had chance to look they will probably let you know. :)

2-3 days is fine - and if they haven't had chance to have a look but want to, they'll let you know. That's a great sign that at least they are interested.

I usually leave books for a week (just my circumstances and how I organise my Avon life) but recently left them for 3 days and I still picked up new customers and orders.
  • Thanks everyone for your replies ... I've had 3 orders from my drop and 1 from my mum, total so far is £65.75, not including my HT stuff or the other lady's who has to ring me (I asked her to by tomorrow eve), so I think I should just about make MOV.

I've also got 3/4 of a road to start dropping at for C13, and may get a little cul de sac off it as well, so we'll see how that goes.

I'm going to ask my mum and sister to take books into their work - they both work in very small businesses but with a mainly female staff, so might pick up the odd order there, and I'll possibly put something on my Facebook page too. I have a friend who runs a monthly baby info group which I help out at so I might see if I can put some books out there, maybe highlight the children's stuff ...

see knew camp 13 was gonna be cr*p!! picked up my first "area" which is 41 books and have got 5 orders!! 2 orders to follow.. . and 9 people out. Thats best case scenario 16 orders... i usually have 23-27 on average from here totalling £200-250 usually.. so far ive got £48! :(:(

    Oh dear....

oh well off to collect the next area..lets see how many orders out of 25 i can get there!!
  • Hiya,

I'm worried my second campaign is not going to go well - it seems too soon for anyone to order again after the last campaign.

Anyway, I was thinking of a refer a friend offer to try and get some new customers. Has anyone had experience of this and what kind of offer did you do that worked well? I was thinking 15% off their next order (but if there's nothing they want because they just ordered then maybe this is a bad idea?)

I've also considered a free gift (do customers really go for this?)

Finally when they 'refer a friend', do you pick the friends order up from your customers house too?

    Confused!!

    Hi Yoyogirl

I think that 2-3 days is long enough to leave the book. Personally, I find that if I leave them any longer then people just forget about them - you know what it's like; if you have ages to do something then you keep putting it off and never get round to it :D Some of my better customers just keep their books and email or phone their order, but that only works when you've got a bit more established and can afford to buy plenty of books.
