Hi, I'm just wondering what qualifies you to become a Sales Leader? I've only just started literally just about to get my first order delivered but as friend what's to join with me, she's out of my area and so it would be different area manager?
Not sure with all that, would really appreciate some advice.
Thanks:o2014: Beaulieu Family Ticket, Pregnancy Massage, Nuby Weaning Kit
2011 was my luckiest year so far!
Biggest win: 18th March 2011: over £8,000!0 -
Hey just a question for any sales leaders. How do you generally go about getting new reps? do you advertise in say supermarkets? How successful do you find this?? Just weighing up whether to become a sales leader as my asm is asking for some more in my area
1. Swooping - this is when you go out with your ASM/and/or other SLs. You target Joe Public at shopping centres, trade fairs, bring and buys, etc. ASMs usually have free samples and old books to give away which are useful for drawing in people. Once you have got them to accept a book or free sample, you ask them if they buy avon, ever thought about being a rep, etc, etc.
2. Advertising - anywhere! Supermarkets, expired books, baby groups, word of mouth, facebook, twitter, anywhere legitimate you can think of, you are not allowed to advertise in phone boxes. but you can advertise in shop windows, ie newsagents.
3. Buying leads from Flissys.com You can join as a trial for 2 weeks to see what you think of it.
4. Through your Avon website, but you only get this when you have 5 reps in your team.
Some people do really well in signing up reps, it is getting them to stay and not defaulting!0 -

You would need to tell whoever you signed up you were interested in becoming a SL, they would need to come and see you and tell you all about it, so you can decide if it is really for you. Then if you say yes, they would tag you to Avon as wanting to be a SL, you would be qualified as a Trainee SL until you get a team of 5 reps.
After you get a team of 5 reps, is when you start earning money.
Your friend can be signed up by whoever signed you up, depending where you both live, it might be the same ASM or 2 different ones.0 -
Just delivered the catalogues to the first street out of my territory. Neighbourhood watch area and about half the houses had signs on saying "no cold callers, no doorstep sellers" put catalogues through the door anyway, but awaiting angry phone calls ect! Also delivered to one house where a dog ran up to the door as I was putting the catalogue through the letter box, dog grabbed the catalogue out of my hands and ran off with it into the house. I think that is the last I will see of that one!
If like me you do not drive and find lugging 40 brochures around to be painful, use a trolley case! Just pull it along, making the whole delivery quick, easy and painless0 -

I have a trolley, my DS pulls it for me! LOL - seriously makes it easier and don't get a sore shoulder!
don't worry about the signs, I have a range of customers with those signs up and they buy from me.0 -

My ASM, although very nice and as helpful as she can be has advised me that she cannot know where all her reps are canvassing. Thing is, one order from one road - together with an assertion from one resident that the area is already covered - tells me that someone is canvassing my allocated road. ASM has suggested knocking on doors and asking other residents. Hmmm
It's awkward but I'm thinking of going back to the person who told me that they already have a rep (they were quite specific and told me they ordered regularly) and asking her if she would pass my phone number on to the other rep to call me. Is that out of line do you think? I just don't want to waste time (and books).:question:
I'm not bothered if someone has the area already - I would just like to know is all.
Hi Kitten Claws, I had this issue (although luckily I was informed by a very nice lady on my road) with another rep canvassing my territory when I first started. I decided to canvass the rest of the road anyway and see how many customers she had. Turns out she only had 3 but I got her number from one of them and gave her a call. Just mentioned I was a new rep in the area and that I had been informed that a few of the houses were her customers and could she tell me which ones so I did not step on her toes. The conversation was very nice and polite and I made sure I did not make her feel like she was doing anything wrong (which obviously she wasn't). We swapped which roads we cover and left it at that. I leave her handful of customers alone and just canvass the rest of the road) I know there are quite a few reps in my area and am trying to use Avonconnects to make contact with them as I would like to get to know a few and maybe between us all we can try and figure out which areas are free without having to rely on the ASMs all the time!!!

Bit annoyed  I'm on my second campaign and got really excited when two customers placed big orders (£65 and £40) and a family member ordered £45 for the new Anew serum and night cream. Now I've realised I gave f/m one brochure too far ahead and now I've lost the sale cos the products aren't able to order until C16 when I'm due to give birth. I'm still on C15.
Thought I could order as a moneymaker from HTC15 but then I have to pay in C16 and it wouldn't count towards my C15 total anymore anyway. Any Ideas?
Also - wandering why my order form online doesn't show availablility?
Not a bad second campaign; total so far £140 and thats just giving family, friends and 1st campaign cusotmers a brochure as I am way to big/tired to go round the village canvassing. Due in 3 weeks!!!:T0 -

I had this the other day, frightened me to death! Was putting the catalogue through the letter box when I heard a snarling noise, and something trying to pull the catalogue off me (it was either a dog or the occupant trying to frighten me off). I pulled the catalogue back out before it could get ripped to pieces and decided not to put it through that door!

There are two houses on my territory with 'highly strung' dogs.
One shreds everything that's put through their letterbox so everyone including the postman leaves things for them in a covered box outside.
The second dog slams itself into the front door and bounces up at the door pane barking, its actually a springer spaniel and so that's probably why its so springy!!
I on the other hand use our dog to lure customers in, as she is so well behaved she comes with me on book drops and deliveries and all the ladies think she is lovely and oooh and aaaah at her. I actually picked up a new customer the other day from the field where I walk her as I just happened to have a brochure with me, she asked if it was Avon and wanted to have a look.
Good dog0
