Hi Joosh, no you're not far from me at all then! :)

Just checked my Facebook and there's no friend request. There is another rep as "Avon Bromsgrove", which is why I called myself "Avon Bromsgrove Area". Did you send it to her?

I've sent you a request now, anyway :)

Yes it would give them a rep - but not necessarily a SL so they wouldn't be able to join with them.

Good point as always, Lozza. I'd expect a SL to put that on their Connects profile though, and as you're getting a random list hopefully at least one will be displayed as a SL :)

I submitted my order about 2 hours ago and a lady has just pushed an £8 order through my door! Can I add it to the order I've already put through or is it too late and will I be charged £2.50 for it?

    thanks ladies for your advice

I presume territory is now a free for all with the new Connects site up and running ?

All the links to the ebrochures and the launch of connects got me thinking:

Would I be allowed to add customers to connects, then e-mail them or PM them a link to the ebrochure so they can look at a catalogue online? Then they would e-mail me their order? This could mean I don't have to drop a catalogue at all, or they've got the option of ordering some extra things once I've taken their catalogue away. I imagine this is something Avon wouldn't like because you could end up buying fewer brochures or non at all. I know there will always be customers who prefer sitting down with a book instead of at a desk looking at a screen.

This is something for a few months down the line - using Avon connects more but holding off inviting customers for now.
I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for. :( I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

If a customer goes on Connects to find a rep they're either not seeing a book at the moment (not in someone's territory or in territory that hasn't been canvassed for ages), or they're not happy with their current rep.

Dropping books on a street without checking or knowing full well it has a rep is different - the rep is going straight to other people's customers rather than the customers choosing to come to you.

I'm going to have to find out more about my customer group. If customers join I don't want them to be visible to other reps so they don't get a PM from another rep saying, "I can be your rep instead."

Kitten Claws, I removed my signature a long time ago, as I never make as much as some on here in Sales. I have rubbish territory, we are saturated with reps around here, although some only do F&F. But I did the whole asking everywhere I went if they saw an Avon book, 3 of the banks have reps, Iceland are not interested, Sainsbury's have a rep, Netto said no books, did the babygroup and only have one customer, etc, etc.

Out of my 200 houses, I have about 20 customers, and they don't all order every campaign. Hence why I had to go and find a part time job and gave up SL, as I needed a guaranteed income, even it is rubbish! Every time i asked for more territory, my ASM just told me to buy more books....

I now have a further 2 roads, but have only picked up 2 customers, and 1 occasional.

I have asked my ASM for more territory but she never replies and then said to me, if you drive I can offer you territory further afield. I don't own a car, yes I have a driving licence but cannot afford a car.

Friends don't buy avon from me, so I do what I can when I can.

And to be honest, I don't put that much work into my books, so used to it now, doesn't take that long.

oh and I forgot some of those items are creative ordering, so I make more money than shows on the paperwork ;)

Aureol that's so pants. :( The question of territory is a bit skewed if you ask me. I've always used Avon products - I like the make up and nail polishes. So have ordered direct online for the last two years. Yet the ASM who came to see me insisted that our road is someones territory. The rep is clearly not active else I would have made my purchases through her. Seems a bit ridiculous to have a territory and not use it because as in all sales, 'activity' is the key benefit.

I'd nag her a bit - or ask in the roads you are interested in whether they are being serviced by Avon. You could always say it's 'market research' which it is - your own.:rotfl:
