My ASM finally called me and said that she can actually meet tomorrow morning!
    Will I get books tomorrow?
Should I put a note in with them just saying who i am?

Good! I hope she turns up this time!

She should give you 20 books for your first proper campaign, she may choose to give you more and she may give you some from the previous campaign, totally her choice.

Make sure she tells you exactly what dates your orders have to be in and the delivery date and day. And if she has it, the number of your courier company! It comes in handy.

It is nice when you are putting books out for the first time to new territory for you, to put a note saying who you are and that you are their new Rep. Make sure you have your contact details somewhere, I put mine on the order form, your name, mobile number and/or email address.

On the front clearly indicate when you want the books left out for you to collect, It doesn't always work, I still have people not leaving the books out, and a note saying if they do not wish to receive any more books to leave their address, so you won't leave any more.

And make sure you put in protective bags!

Cheers for your answer. If you have a credit account with them do they do a credit check on you?

They do a credit check on you, most people seem to be ok, but they do turn people down on their credit report. but this maybe people who did avon previously and left in debt.

What I am wondering is when do you give the people who ordered the next brochure? Do you give them the next brochure with their delivery, ready packaged in a plastic bag etc and get them to leave it out. Or do you deliver the new brochure before you have the given them their stuff.

    Thanks,
    Rachel

I do both. Depending how organised I am. Sometimes I prep the next book, and pop it through their door in the clear bag, with their order and a note to say when I will be delivering it and here is the new book for them to look at, and a date I would like it left outside.

When I do this, if my customer is organised, they have my money and a new order ready :) it also means I can get these books out to my territory as well.

If I am not organised I will give them the new book with their order.

I used to buy the freezer bags from Poundland until they stopped stocking the right size.

Others buy the Avon ones, but I had a few of these, my DS picked up one that had been left out by a customer and the top just peeled away! Not using them again for that!

Others use 99p shop, Poundland, Sainsbury's, Iceland, etc.

However...... I use the ones from Elliebee's recommendation! They are the perfect size even if you put free gifts in, samples etc, last for ages.

    8 x11 ones.
  • This is the note that I used when I took on a new area, but it could easily be adapted for someone starting out:

A MESSAGE FROM YOUR NEW ‘AVON LADY’

Hi there – my name is ***, and I’m your new Avon lady. I’ve been doing Avon for a couple of years now, and enjoy it so much that I have taken on this extra area. To start with, I am delivering a brochure to every house, but if you do not want one in the future then please just let me know and I’ll take you off the list. I don’t mind at all if you like a brochure to browse, but only order once or twice a year.
Please take a few minutes to look through your brochure as you may be surprised how much Avon has changed. It’s no longer just make-up, but lots of value-for-money toiletries, an excellent range of products for men, underwear, gifts, and much more, all delivered to your door and with a 90 day ‘no quibble’ guarantee.

I try to give something back to my loyal customers in the form of mystery gifts, prize draws, samples etc., so I hope you will enjoy being part of the AVON ‘Family’.

SO THAT I DON’T HAVE TO DISTURB YOU, PLEASE LEAVE THIS BROCHURE OUTSIDE YOUR DOOR ON TUESDAY (collecting after 9am)

    Phone:
    Email:

With some careful spacing, you can get 2 to a page, which just fits the front/back of an Avon book. I didn't add a 'tick box' for people to opt out as I felt it made it too easy ;)

Hope that might help someone :)

  • Rachelet - I always deliver new brochure with orders (unless a shop as I like to have a brochure in there all the time). Deliver on a tuesday, always collect on a monday, most remember the collection day now. Non ordering customers may get theirs on the wed or thurs depending how disorganised I am then collected again on the monday. Canvassing I do only 2-4 days rather than the time I give my regulars. My reason is that some of mine are older customers and it gives them a chance to show their daughters/family over the weekend!
Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed. ;)

  • Well, you have spurred me on to do a facebook page :T It's not much at the minute but I have done the basics and basically invited ALL my friends to join!!! Am hoping that most will accept and that way I should get some free advertising out to their friends too  If anyone wants to befriend me I am Avon Exeter. I love facebook :D

I got a pack from ebay for a couple of quid (I think I might have even searched avon bags as sellers do use the fact that Avon books fit in them) and have just ordered a couple of packs of the Avon (hopefully non holey) brochure bags as they are so cheap!
