  • Sorry that this is a bit after the event, but just catching up!

When you're using the Vistaprint templates, don't forget that you can put anything in any field, ie you can put a message where it says 'name', phone number where it says 'address' and so on....

Also, I would guess the large rubber stamp would be fine as the small one is rather too small to be of much use.

Got to go and do my first collection of books today! Excited to see if I have any orders, but also terrified of knocking on people's doors! Oh well, sure it'll get easier the more you do it! I'm going to make some calling cards, so if people haven't left the book out and aren't in when I knock, I will put the card through the door, telling them I'll pick up the book tomorrow morning, if they leave it out.

    Wish me luck!

Good idea! You could do something like this:

Sorry I missed you when I called to collect my brochure. I will call back TOMORROW but will not need to disturb you if you leave your book outside.

If you have any queries you are welcome to contact me on ***** ******, or email on ********@sky.com. Regards
    *name*

Formatting doesn't show here, but I do them in 2 columns to give me 8 to an A4 page

Most people are fine when you knock and if not, then they should have left the book out!

Good luck (&, yes, it gets easier - not least because you and your customers get to know each other)

Aureol thats doesn't seem like much for a lot of work?

Kitten Claws, I removed my signature a long time ago, as I never make as much as some on here in Sales. I have rubbish territory, we are saturated with reps around here, although some only do F&F. But I did the whole asking everywhere I went if they saw an Avon book, 3 of the banks have reps, Iceland are not interested, Sainsbury's have a rep, Netto said no books, did the babygroup and only have one customer, etc, etc.

Out of my 200 houses, I have about 20 customers, and they don't all order every campaign. Hence why I had to go and find a part time job and gave up SL, as I needed a guaranteed income, even it is rubbish! Every time i asked for more territory, my ASM just told me to buy more books....

I now have a further 2 roads, but have only picked up 2 customers, and 1 occasional.

I have asked my ASM for more territory but she never replies and then said to me, if you drive I can offer you territory further afield. I don't own a car, yes I have a driving licence but cannot afford a car.

Friends don't buy avon from me, so I do what I can when I can.

And to be honest, I don't put that much work into my books, so used to it now, doesn't take that long.

oh and I forgot some of those items are creative ordering, so I make more money than shows on the paperwork ;)

What a dozy old banana I am I ordered 500 bus cards by mistake

I ordered a stamp too - but then after I clicked the button I noticed it said 'large' Damn - I hope it isn't too big.

the large one is better than the small one! Believe me I had the small one as it was free and it was hard to read the print, so paid the extra and got the large and much happier with it.

    Morning all

Apologies if this question has been asked before...I'm sure it must have been!

I'll be placing my order for my second campaign next week, which should be for C15, but I've also got some backorders for C14. Will I have to place these as two separate orders and pay for delivery of one of them, or will everything go through on the same order?

    Hope that makes sense.

    Thank you.

    Beencounting

no, don't put as separate orders as you will get charged! that is what happened to me when I first started out, I didn't know about backordering and wasn't told!

When you submit your C15 order, on the order page, if you look at the word 15 in the box, there is a little drop down arrow next to it, click on this, and it will show you the number 14. Select that, and then key in your order number for 14.

You will need to do this for each 14 order, but this way your whole order is on one campaign, you will get discount on both orders as long as you have hit MoV and one delivery and no £2.50 charge!
  • morning all!! how do you guys dispose of your old catalogues? (after reusing for back ordering). is it safe to just put them in the paper recycling bag? or do you take them to a communal recycling facility? baring in mind the catalogues have my name and number on, just concerned about them coming back to me disposing of commercial waste in residential facilities....

    thank you.x

Do you, or anyone else on here, have experience being an Avon rep for a shop? You got me thinking about the Tesco Metro near where I live, but I'm not sure how delivery would work. Does someone drop things to go and get the money and take the delivery round the back?

The thing that worries me about delivering to a group like that is that one person will be responsible for collecting the group's money, taking the delivery, and handing them out. At the moment my mother-in-law is doing that for her workplace, but I don't want it to turn into a palaver for her chasing money. It's like they're a rep but without the commission!
I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for. :( I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

sorry no, where I work, there is already a rep. I have asked my customers if any would be interested in taking a book to work, and some are retired, maternity leave, do not work, said no, etc, etc.

I think if you were going to do that, the best thing would be to see if any of them live local enough for you to deliver to their home and do it that way. If not, then say to the others on x day I will come to deliver your order at lunchtime, please have your money ready, and if you are allowed to meet outside the back doors or something?

we had this discussion a few pages back.

I put mine in our recycling bin, but do not have my name and number on them. As elliebee said, if the council tip ever spotted them and decided it should be commercial waste, they could come back to you and tell you, you have to pay to have it removed.

The Avon website just says to contact your local council for advice.
  • Hi All,

Need some help please. My C14 delivery was due on Monday and as I was away I asked for it to be delivered to an alternative address. I thought everything would be fine! I called my sister (alternative address) on Monday evening to check it had been delivered ok. It hadn't, so I called avon to find out what the problem was. As it was after 6pm, they were unable to call the distribution company and advised me to call back in the morning.

The next morning, I again called Avon to find out what had happened to my order. They couldn't answer me but promised that it would be delivered on Wednesday. I asked that the original address be used as no-one was available at the altrnative address on that day. "Yes, no problem" was the response from Avon.

Wednesday came and went, still no delivery. I have just called the distribution company direct to find out they have no idea when a van will be in my area and cannot give me a delivery date! The apparently advised Avon that if I changed my address it wouldn't arrive on Wednesady as they don't deliver in my area on that date.

So now I have no clue as to when it will arrive. I have had it up to here with Avon and have decided to close my account. My question is, if the distribution centre send my delivery back to Avon, how do I get my account credited.

I'm now going to have to explain to my customers why they won't be getting their orders aswell :(
    I'm an Avon Rep!

    C13 - £432.50 :j C14 - £332.94 :D
