So now I have no clue as to when it will arrive. I have had it up to here with Avon and have decided to close my account. My question is, if the distribution centre send my delivery back to Avon, how do I get my account credited.

I'm now going to have to explain to my customers why they won't be getting their orders aswell :(

I'm sorry to hear this cate.

One of my reps when I was an SL, asked me to take her delivery while she was on holiday, which was fine. She did the safe address on the site, and the day her delivery was due, Avon called her and asked her why she was having it delivered to me? confused smiley.

She explained she was going to be away and had checked with me and I had agreed, but as she had returned a day early it was ok to deliver to her as normal and the couriers did.

Don't know what that was all about!

If you are really, really sure about cancelling your Avon account, and don't want 24 hours to think about it, you need to go into your account and credit every single item back, call Avon and tell them to tell the courier company to send the box back to Avon as you no longer want the delivery and have requested credits.

But are you sure? Do you want to think about it? My courier company are very helpful. If I submit my order late or have an additional, I can ask them and they check if they have received it and tell me when it will be delivered.

right, now I have added books and 1 more lavender offer. As you can see my cost has gone down, this is because it added up all the items, plus the books, and calculated 20% discount on my total sales orders, not including books. So I will only have to pay £63.82 for my order and make £15.78 discount.

BUT out of this £15.78 I still have to pay for my books at a cost of £6.30.

    ohhh, thanks! :D

    Thanks aureol,

My other half is going to collect it from the courier company this afternoon so at least my customers will receive their orders.

We are in the process of taking over a pub/b&b and am unsure if I will have enough time to concentrate on Avon. It may be that I just don't drop on my patch. I may keep my regulars and f&f. I can just do without this hassle every month!

Why don't you do that? It is going to be hard work already with the pub/b&b until you are established.

Tell your upliner, whoever signed you up, that you are doing F&F and these customers (regulars) are your friends, and you want to give up the rest of your territory.

Explain to your regulars that you are still doing Avon and they can order from you, and then when things are a bit more settled for you, you can always ask for more territory.
  • morning all!! how do you guys dispose of your old catalogues? (after reusing for back ordering). is it safe to just put them in the paper recycling bag? or do you take them to a communal recycling facility? baring in mind the catalogues have my name and number on, just concerned about them coming back to me disposing of commercial waste in residential facilities....

    thank you.x

As has already been said, I've always had concerns about them being seen as commercial waste so have never put my contact details on the books (I just used to put a label giving the last date you can order from that book, & the 2 delivery dates in a smaller font). I used to take the expired ones down to the tip but was always careful to be discreet, even there.

If you have the details on your books already, then I think I would take a few minutes before disposing of them to tear that bit off and dispose separately. Personally, I never put anything in the bin with a name & address on it - I always shred, incinerate, or use one of these:

I did this several months ago and it is much easier. I do my regular customers and f & f, I order books for each one of them , do 1 drop and 1 pickup. I told the asm to take me off territory.

This month we got a new asm and I asked her if there was any territory available that hasn't been done to death by other reps and she said "you already have 500 houses" I despair of asm's. It seems the lastone didn't take me off it despite me having told her by email and phone.

I am giving up after Christmas as it really isn't worth the hassle and sales always drop after Christmas anyway..
Life is not the way it’s supposed to be. It’s the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.
  • Typical! One of the ladies on my territory who hasn't ordered for ages rang this morning to see if I can get hold of an eyeshadow quad in textured teal. I put my order in last night and it's in the HT clearance!! Dont know whether to do an additional order (obviously charging her the £2.50) or to order one of ebay for about the same price. Decisions decisions! On the plus she's asked for the next brochure!
    C1 = £643.17, C2= £60.51, C3 = £376.48, C4 = £331.58, C5 = £422.57

Good idea! You could do something like this:

Sorry I missed you when I called to collect my brochure. I will call back TOMORROW but will not need to disturb you if you leave your book outside.

If you have any queries you are welcome to contact me on ***** ******, or email on ********@sky.com. Regards

Formatting doesn't show here, but I do them in 2 columns to give me 8 to an A4 page

Most people are fine when you knock and if not, then they should have left the book out!

Good luck (&, yes, it gets easier - not least because you and your customers get to know each other)

    Thanks Elliebee :)

Well I collected my books. Managed to get 16 back, from 35 dropped. I put a card through the door for the others and hope some may be left out for me tomorrow.

And, out of 16 books, I got...........no orders! lol. Still, everybody I spoke to were pleasant. One lady said she wants to order and has kept the book. She'll email me when she's ready (I told her when I had to order by.) Another two people asked to keep the book longer for their mum/wife. Another lady put a post it note on the book to say she doesn't want to order yet but to please keep leaving a book.

So, all in all, although I'm obviously disappointed I haven't had any firm orders yet, I enjoyed the experience and am pleased I may get at least one customer from this drop. Off out in the morning to collect any more books and take my other 16 to new houses.

I guess it's something you just have to keep plugging away at!
