Am hoping that you helplful lot can assist. This is my first campaign and I am due to put my order in on Tuesday, have managed to get over £300 so am realllly pleased!!!

Anyway, I haven't had any training on the system yet from my ASM and when I went on to Connect yesterday to register myself it kept coming up saying that the date of birth I put in doesn't match Avon's records. Much as I would love to be a different age (younger preferrably!!) I am not and the DOB I'm inputting is correct. What can I do? I can only assume that my ASM has given Avon the wrong DOB when she first registered my account, but I can't get hold of her (to be fair she had explained that she had a family funeral to attend and it may be hard toget hold of her) and I am panicking that it won't be sorted out in time for me to place my order. Gulp!!

On another topic, can someone explain a bit more about how backordering works? I have canvassed my own street and was told I could canvass around MIL's area. If I have to put in my C15 order on Tuesday how do I go about re-using the C15 books to canvass other streets? When do you put in the order - is it with C16 orders or do I put in a seperate one and then pay the delivery charge?

Also, I had a customer ask me if they could order a lipstick they had seen their friend with. It was from a sale brochure, was silver coloured and the shade they wanted was Natural Glisten. They couldn't tell me how much it was or anything but their friend was going to ask her rep to order her two more so I assume it may still be available? Any idea how I would go about this as I would really like to be able to impress the customer - particulalry as it is my first time as a rep.

One more (sorry about the length of post!) - another customer asked if Avon sell colour correction cream - you know the stuff that you put on under foundation to tone down the redness - I couldn't see anything and wondered whether you lovely people could suggest a product?

Finally can I please thank you all for the wonderful hints and tips I have received on this thread - it has made everything much clearer!!

The exact same thing happend to me so I phoned Avon who told me to sign up a different way and now my account is completley messed up and i've got to be taken off the system and re-put on. Thing is this isnt being done till monday which is the day my very first order has to be placed. I'd ring the person who signed you up and ask them:)
  • hi, i've got my order loaded onto the system ready to go on monday. as for the stock availability what does it mean when it's blank in this field, no tick, dot or cross?

i've got 4 items which don't show anything...
    I'm an AVON lady :j

I can't remember, but I wouldn't worry too much. The only time you can really tell when stuff is not going to be delivered, is when it is missing from your boxes!

how can you tell whether or not you are viewable to new customers?

Have you changed your profile to ensure you have agreed to some notifications from Avon? Then there is the chance to say that you want to be passed customer leads.

I signed up on Friday last (the 2nd I think) and haven't seen/spoken to her since! Thanks for lettin gme know that I can phone it through - even if it is lonwinded at least i won't be letting anyone down!

If your ASM signed you up on the 2nd or the 3rd, Avon should have received your contract by now, if she has sent it in. They are usually pretty good about getting it set up straight away and then they send you an email to let you know your account number.

Did you give an email address on your contract form?

You could call Avon and find out if you have been allocated an account number.

I wouldn't recommend getting a temporary account number set up to get your orders through or another account number.

If you have a mobile number for your ASM, text her and just say you are worried as you have these orders to key but haven't received your account number.

Have you checked your spam e-mails in case one from Avon has slipped in there?

I haven't registered online with the tax man yet, am waiting to see how I do in this camapign to see if I'll keep doing Avon. Wanted to pick some of your brains - How much tax do they take? Do you pay it monthly or yearly? Sorry for asking what are probably daft questions...

When you register as self employed, HRMC will send you out information about self assessment. You are supposed to submit your self assessment, the April following the month you joined Avon.

The tax depends on your earnings, we cannot tell you how much they will take. If you make less than a certain amount, you won't pay tax. If you do owe the tax man tax, after submitting your self assessment, you have to pay it straight away.

    this gives you more information.
  • Could a SL help please, a friend has asked to join avon, I put her post code in the 'look up a postcode' bit and it came up with a different area manager and mailplan. Iv never signed anyone up from a different area so not sure what to do. Would I just fill in the contract like normal but put in the different mail plan etc then e-mail her area manager asking for territory? x

Yes little_star, fill in the contract as normal, putting in all the details from the system re the area manager and mailplan, make sure you put all these details on your friend's book, so she has them.

Yes, email or ring the new ASM for territory. Just explain to them you are an SL out of area and have recruited somewhere in their area who requires territory.

Most ASMs are very nice and grateful to you for signing out of area, but in their area, if that makes sense.
