i dont know what to do for the best. im still waiting for my manager to get back to me. it will be tomorrow now as she finishs at 5pm. she said she would call this morning. i have 70 books sitting here i could be delivering if only i knew where was free. my mother in law whos doing it with me thinks we should give it up already because she feels we are getting a tough ride what with have 3 other people on the round and not being able to get any more streets. My manager has finished for the day now so i guess its tomorrow now and those 50 invoices i wrote out yesterday before i found out about the duplications will go to waste as they will have all the wrong information on. All i want is some more street names!

Sorry, am forever at odds with my own ASM so really empathise with any rep that signs up direct with an ASM. (OK, sorry again, realise not all ASMs are the same but it's just such a shame that soooooo many don't have either the time or the will to help their newbies....)

Furby, in your position I'd go out and knock on all the doors nearest to you. As SG says, purport to be conducting a survey (email me on avonchris@live.co.uk and I'll email you back with an official Avon survey form if you want one, but you don't really need it) - main question to ask is 'when is the last time - if you can remember - that you were actually offered an Avon book on your doorstep?'. That usually starts the ball rolling if they're interested in Avon (if not, then just move onto the next house). Ask any other relevant questions you like e.g. 'Have you seen/can you remember any Avon adverts on the TV? Have you heard about ........ ?' Of course, if they are interested and haven't had a book in a while, offer to let them have one to look at with no obligation and tell them when you'll be back to collect it.

Hope that helps and good luck.

ASMs are supposed to reply within 48 hours, so give her another day. Do you have her details? And meantime, if you have any friends/family that don't order Avon, give them a book, and ask them to show it to their friends. Remind them of 90 day guarantee, free delivery, no cost to look, if they not happy, full refund and goes back, if faulty exchanged.

You're soooo sweet and, as ever, give out really great advice 100% within the rules..... whereas :o I'm a (quite) bad person sometimes! :rotfl:

LOL MC, but sometimes the advice I give is not whole, ie talking about going forward how Avon are doing away with paper ordering, but what I should have added was that the current Reps on paper ordering will continue until Avon advise as such ;) ,
• Hiya, i have decided after such a rubbish c13 i am going to do a refer a friend in c14 offering 10% off, to the original customer if the friend spend £10 or more... (in a bid to rustle up some custom before christmas! and boost my sales) does this sound reasonable?
I am struggling a little on how to word it... (sounds daft but my 22mth old has an ear infection and i have had no sleep for 3 days...!)
Also should i put it on a post it or a little book mark thingy or....???
C11-£310!!!:j:j:j C12-£249!!:TC13-?

My SL had already given me 20 x c13 and 20 x c14 to start me off, but with just 10 days until c13 orders deadline I didn't have enough time to canvas effectively so I asked her if I could start from C14 and back order C13 for some of my territory.

I now have a mixture of C13 and C14 orders to put in. I will order my C16 brochures at the same time but where should I get my C15 brohures from?
I would ask your SL, because if even though she provided 13 and 14, and meant to start you in 13, she has started you in 14/

Another Q - I am due to give birth around my C16 orders deadline :)
if I drop a week or two before hand and don't manage to get any orders in- what happens? Can you miss campaigns due to poor sales? What happens if you go on holiday, operation etc?
You just need to keep your account active, ie, place a small order from HT, or order order forms. They will send you a single brochure which you will have to pay 55p for, but you will still receive HT and you can order from both. Just let your SL and ASM know so they don't keep badgering you about your account.

P.S Just taken my first orders - £50 just from my 8 neighbours and got another 100 houses to collect from yet :rotfl:still won't get any comission though as £7.50 admin fee, £8 brochures, samples requested etc. :(

Well done on the orders, and let's hope you get lots more.

why £8 on books? Are you ordering C16 and C17? 20 books is £5.34 for 1 campaign

What samples are you ordering? Were you signed up on the Smart Start Scheme? Did you get told you might receive some samples after 2 successful campaigns?

awww hope your Baby feels better really quickly! I know all about sleep deprivation!

When I first started doing Avon, I offered 10% discount to customers and my SL suggested I didn't, as it would come out of any discount I earnt. She recommended a free gift, preferrably bought from clearance in HT. Although others on here might say the 10% is reasonable to encourage new custom for you.

I used to put it on a post it note on the front of the books, but I think MC's bookmark idea might work well for you. PM with your email address so she can email it to you.

I used to just say something like "Refer a friend, and if they spend £10 or more, you will receive a free gift".

I still have a customer who asks everyone she knows to take a look at my avon book and see if they want to buy anything... she wants a free gift...:rotfl:

Thanks for the tips and advice, think I'll also follow your advice about posting on Netmums, never thought of there. Also I'll take to baby groups. Hopefully my ASM will come back to me soon
I'm an AVON lady :j

c13 - £165, c14 - £260 c15 - £357 c16 - £423:)

As one or two others have said I also received the Fred Bennet cuff links as an anniversary gift. I called Pc line and got throught to prize department. I said I was a bit upset at having received cufflinks as a gift and that perhaps they had my name wrong. Apparently not she said gifts are not specific and can be anything from the Avon range .Basically I can like it or lump it. Could I not give them to a customer or as a gift was her reply. Beats giving reps a gift if we have to give it away. I have never sold cufflinks and don't know anyone who would wear them. She suggested I give them to charity. Not at all impressed almost as bad as being given an out of date filofax for hiting targets within first 6 months!! Didn't like her attitude at all and will be returning them would rather receive nothing than be given something useless which they obviously need to get rid off. Wouldn't be surprised if they didn't also appear in the Lotus shield incentive!!!
I have never met a calorie yet I didn't like!!

don't worry! You have still submitted it in good time, don't worry about it being a few minutes past 10pm. You will still get your order on time, all being well with the courier. (Have to say this, because if your regular is on holiday, it may get delivered at a different time to normal).
