I found it difficult on my first campaign, but then it gets easier as you find out who wants one and who doesnt. I kept knocking on doors and found it better to go back about 6pm when most people are in.0

Just wandering if evrybody found avon hard to start. Went back out to collect in 17 books left on fri and only managed to get 4 back and no orders. Will be back out tonight to try and get the rest. Going to give the 4 books that ive got left to friends and take to work. I'm trying to keep smiling honest!!!
Yeah, it depends on what time / day you go and pick up. I find Sunday - Thursday are the best pick up days if you can, as Friday & Saturday people are usually out with friends. And between 6pm and 8pm time-wise. I try not to do it any later in case people have kids in bed. Summer is easier than winter as the dark nights make your pick up times even shorter!0 -
I had that, I asked for more streets and one already has 2 reps who live on it. Im going to email my asm now to see about others.0

Yes, not easy when you first start, which is why so many fall at the first hurdle. It's a good idea to take someone along with you for moral support if you can. (My OH came round with me on my first campaign but stood 'quite a distance' away i.e. just in case anyone thought he was actually 'with me'! :rotfl:)
Don't forget to mention to all your friends and family that you're a new rep too. Hopefully, you'll find they'll be happy to support you too i.e. to help you get off to a good start. Always a good idea to mention to them that you can access clearance too so ask them what their favourite old products are and offer to keep an eye out for them in clearance. The online offers are also great for that too i.e. offer to order things on a 'sale or return' basis.Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

I rang back (OK I rang the PC line, which is much easier) and told them I just wanted to give them some feedback in that whilst I didn't wish to appear ungrateful and it was a really nice idea to give anniversary gifts, the cufflinks were absolutely no use to me whatsoever. (Not even any use for my OH, who never wears them either.) Avon were really understanding about it and said it was 'obviously an error' and they're sending me something else. I offered to return the cufflinks but they said just to keep them so they've gone in my 'Treasure Chest'. Hmm.... wonder if I'll get aftershave next time! :rotfl:
Thanks such i good idea, think i might give them a ring. Then again trying to understand CS is such nightmare. The call centre certainly isn't localTesco CC 1300/461.93/838.07Mini HP 13000.62/5813.62/71870 -
Missy - I'm not doing any recanvassing over the summer holidays...having a hard enough time catching regular customers in so not adding to the stress lol. I'll be starting recanvassing from about September. Usually C16 they start promoting christmas stuff a lot, which we're nearly at which is scary lol! Any issues before that, you could always do a note in the book to mention "start spreading the cost of christmas, perfumes, jewellery etc on offer pages x, get them delivered free to your door, no cost of petrol/parking, and no hassle as you can shop in the comfort of your own home".
Thanks Lozza, that's a great idea about the quote to put in the book, about spreading the cost of Christmas. I am going to add it to my newsletter for the next campaign. Hope you are ok0 -

Yeah pretty good thanks, had a nice family day out (OH family) yesterday to Skegness which Gran really enjoyed
I'm gonna be starting to mention idea for Christmas - particularly when theres perfumes for only £4 as they won't break the bank, but will add up to extra sales over the next few campaignsAvon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -
Ive had a good result today, went to deliver a £3 product to a lady who had called to say she would be away but to go round after her hol and she said she's a big fan of avon and only ordered a small product this time cause the last rep she had took a big order from her but never turned up with it! So she said she wanted to make sure I'd turn up.
So fingers crossed for many more orders off this lady now.

Help!
Having a bit of a mare... suddenly realised this morning that I only have 10 days to push C13 to my territory and f&f on 14, and judging by some of your comments its a pretty c*ap one, C13 that is!!!
Any suggestions of what went well and what you pushed?
Thanks ever so much
I think C13 has been poor for most people because its the holidays - I know a lot of my regular customers haven't ordered as they are away so haven't seen a book, or they knew they'd be away around when it would be delivered.
I found the most popular bits were the new mascara, the split end mender (as I mentioned that in my newsletter, saying its fab (which it is!) really strengthing my hair etc, so sold about 6 bottles of that which is good for my customers, and at £3.60 it soon adds up). Thats about the main things that spring to mind, everyone else just ordered what they usually do - shower gel, bubble bath, bit of make-up etc.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0
