Thanks such i good idea, think i might give them a ring. Then again trying to understand CS is such nightmare. The call centre certainly isn't local
No, the call centre is in India. I found as a Rep it was easier to email CS, these are in Northampton/Corby, I can never remember which, and deal with them that way.0 -
I feel like i'm on a roller coaster, one minute ready to give up then suddenly get onother order and then i feel on top of the world again. Have Managed to canvas 50 house so far with only 2 orders. So time to prep the small amount of books I've got left and get them back out hopefully for a few more orders as would love to reach MOV without relying on family and friends.:)
still give a book to family and friends, maybe put them on back campaign? They may not buy regularly but it would be good for your sales, good for their pockets, and they will be pleasantly surprised. Also they may have friends that want to buy from you.0 -

do you go to any baby clubs? Are you on netmums.com? Do you go hairdressers or beauty places, favourite coffee shops?
If so, take a book along and ask your leader at the baby club if you can leave a few books for the mums to look at, especially with xmas coming up, spreading the cost before xmas, etc.
If you are on netmums, you can put a free ad as a rep, you might find there are other reps already on there, but offer a free gift for every order over £10, to get them to ask you for a book instead.
Go to your hairdressers/beauty place and ask if they see Avon book, and if not, can you leave one for the staff.
Anywhere else you frequent that women work there? Ask them if they see a book and if not, would they like too.0 -
Hiya,
How much do people spend on their ''free gifts'' and do you order them from the HT with the campaign (so you know how many to order?)
Thanks0 -

nope, nope, nope nope and nope
how sad am i. can't afford to go to the hairdressers these days!. will ask when i do join the baby group thoughConverted comper to MSE. Thank you for all your answers!0 -

I spend less than £1 or "free". I don't always order from HT clearance as no guarantee with your order! I have a box of Avon goodies, made up over time, through creative ordering, or if I managed to get something in HT for 75p.0

oh no hun! Not sad at all ! I couldn't afford to go hairdressers whilst on maternity leave, I have been fortunate enough to get free cuts and colour, as the trainee hairdresser was completing her NVQ level 2 and 3. She will be qualified soon though
The local college has a hairdressing course and they do haircuts from £6.
There is no harm though in walking into local hairdressers and asking if they seen an avon book. Most do these days but you never know...
also advertise. You can run up a little advert on a postcard and put it for free in some supermarkets.
Sell yourself to everyone you meet. When you see your Health Visitor, ask her if she buys avon, interested? Ask other mums at the surgery, ask the receptionists, (at my Drs, they buy from me). If you go to a baby clinic, ask the receptionists.
If you have a sure Start centre near you, ask them, and also go along to their mums and baby groups and take a couple of books with you. Go to the toy library, playgroups, ask the other mums...0 -
Your SL should give you C15 books, if she signed you up in C14.
My SL had already given me 20 x c13 and 20 x c14 to start me off, but with just 10 days until c13 orders deadline I didn't have enough time to canvas effectively so I asked her if I could start from C14 and back order C13 for some of my territory.
I now have a mixture of C13 and C14 orders to put in. I will order my C16 brochures at the same time but where should I get my C15 brohures from?
I like the idea of using new and old brochures to sell as I'm getting out 100+ brochures per campaign but only paying for 20!
Another Q - I am due to give birth around my C16 orders deadline
if I drop a week or two before hand and don't manage to get any orders in- what happens? Can you miss campaigns due to poor sales? What happens if you go on holiday, operation etc?
Thanks!
P.S Just taken my first orders - £50 just from my 8 neighbours and got another 100 houses to collect from yet :rotfl:still won't get any comission though as £7.50 admin fee, £8 brochures, samples requested etc.0 -

So she said she wanted to make sure I'd turn up.
So fingers crossed for many more orders off this lady now.
You hit the nail right on the head there, DB. So many times I come across customers, who have been let down by their previous rep so they do tend to 'test' you first to see if you'll come back when you say you will before they trust you with a big order.
Emailing is also a great route for orders. So get as many email contact addresses as you can for your customers. Really good way to communicate (as we all know) and great for getting in those last minute orders. :TMake the most of everything in life (especially Avon)
