Does this look ok - polite but to the point?

Please tick the box if you do not wish to receive Avon
brochures in the future □ Please place the brochure
outside for me to collect so I do not have to disturb you.
    Thank You

I find that asking them to write their door number instead of a tick works better as you don't need to check as you collect the books & can wait til you get home ... always good when it's raining xx

    So something like -

Please write the first line of your address if you do not wish to receive Avon brochures in the future. Please place the brochure
outside for me to collect so I do not have to disturb you.
    Thank You

I have a few roads so would need to know the road too.

I had an Avon book through my door approx 6 weeks ago, on a Monday, with the slip ticked to say the lady would collect it on the Friday. So, now conscious that the brochures cost her money since I've signed up for AS parties and have to pay for catalogues, I made sure I left it outside in good time for her to collect.

It's still there and there is absolutely no sign of her ever coming back for it!!

Oh dear lanfear. She may have given up Avon. Is there a mobile or house number to call her on? If so, call her and ask if she still wants her book back, otherwise you will recycle it.

You are very lovely to put it back out.

Another question!! (Are you sick of me yet??:rotfl:)

The calling cards that you can order - What do you get?

The downloadable ones only include one that says 'sorry I missed you' for people with orders. Is there one that says 'sorry i missed you' for collecting brochures?

    Morning all,

You've all been busy on the forum this morning.

Was unpacking my boxes of avon today & noticed a strong smell of PRODUCT - heart sink. Yes, a spillage (for the second delivery running). Yet again, a top had flipped off and shampoo everywhere. Ever noticed that it gets more foamy the more you wipe.

Avon - PLEASE NOTE - you need to seal all liquid products. A spillage is a NIGHTMARE.

My house smells like a tarts boudoir AND it's attracting every wasp in kent.

    Moan over!

Aureol - you made me giggle. Home made WU liquid? I thought I'd entered Old Style Money Saving by mistake. You've got to give us the recipe now, I'm curious.

No, not at al Lita. :)

It is similiar to the downloadable ones, it says sorry I missed you to collect your order and sorry I missed you to deliver your order. I just tick the bit about missing them for collecting their order and write in that they should leave the book outside even if they are not placing an order.

When I first started out, I used to write on the bags, please leave outside as this book is reused, even if you are not ordering.
  • Purely personal choice, but I prefer to just say let me know if you would rather not have a brochure. Sometimes, people just won't get around to doing that, whereas they would tick a box and I've had lots of people over the years who didn't seem interested at first, but have later become customers (some after me delivering books every campaign for a couple of years, so never give up :p), Think 'Chinese water torture' :D

I know joyfull, I know it is in the wrong place but just so pleased at spotting it on Old Homestyle, that had to share with someone! I subscribe to the thread but never get time to read it, and just spotted that this morning.

Interesting what you were saying about sealing bottles, I got the liquid handwashes in my delivery, and all the caps had clips around the neck, to stop them accidentally being pressed and spilling everything. And I thought what a great idea! Now they need to do something similar with the other products with lids. Or even those little plastic sleeves that go over the top that can only be removed by peforating the perforations or tearing down them, like you get in Boots.

    here is the recipe :)

    1 litre boiling water
2-3 drops tea tree oil or lavender oil (or others - depeneding on what takes my fancy smell wise)
10g soap flakes (2 heaped tsp)
10g soda crystals (2 heaped tsp)
    1 tsp vinegar

Good mix and shake up and use.

Am just looking to save money wherever I can until I can get a better job, and to be honest if this works, will continue with it anyway. At least I know what is in the ingredients.
