I think sometimes when you sign up someone new and even if you go to help them place their first order, to try and explain back ordering can be a little overwhelming. I think sometimes it is easier to let them get into Avon for a couple of campaigns and then explain how back ordering works. BUT some people are savvy enough to catch on quickly if you do explain the first time.

Why don't you talk to your upliner about Sales Leadership?

I think I might get some of those slips printed off, make some ones for people to tick if they want a brochure or not and then keep my fingers crossed that I can get some sort of order going!

Would something simple like this work do you think - 'Please tick the box if you do not wish to recieve Avon brochures in the future. Thank You.'

Don't give up on it. Avon are keen for people to sign up as SL's and also to hit President's Club.

Your ASM should try to help you find your first 5. My SL did. She bought leads for me, phoned the first two for appointments, then bought me more leads to help me along.

Not saying your ASM has to buy you leads, but they can help you to get sign ups.

ASMs usually do "swooping" which means they go to shopping areas with current brochures, free samples and hand them out to people to get them to sign up. They stop them with the free sample, ask if they buy Avon, would they be interested in being a Rep, make an appointment, and hopefully, the person doesn't cancel and signs up and stays signed up!

So you could go swooping with your ASM. Also they go door knocking, so you could go out with your ASM and possibly experienced SLs or other newbies and sign some up that way.

Also, get a card and advertise everywhere. Speak to everyone you know and tell them you have become a Sales Leader and are looking for new people to join your team. Get a Facebook account going, join twitter. Do free ads on Google...

Don't worry, there are ways and means to get your first 5 :D

and by the way, some of the stuff i have listed is ideas from Lozza1985 and sophisoph, they have given me to help me recruit :T

I had an Avon book through my door approx 6 weeks ago, on a Monday, with the slip ticked to say the lady would collect it on the Friday. So, now conscious that the brochures cost her money since I've signed up for AS parties and have to pay for catalogues, I made sure I left it outside in good time for her to collect.

It's still there and there is absolutely no sign of her ever coming back for it!!

Does this look ok - polite but to the point?

Please tick the box if you do not wish to receive Avon
brochures in the future □ Please place the brochure
outside for me to collect so I do not have to disturb you.
    Thank You
