So went out and collected my brochures. Only 10 returned from 25, so will have to go back out tonight and recanvas. Only got one order for £17. Got my returned books prepped and straight back out so I can collect them on Monday. I am going to keep at it and hope I might get another couple of orders when back out tonight.

I find this works because I can go through all the forms at the end and make a note of who doesn't want brochures when I get them back home again.
I've come across alot of people who say I would order but already get it from work/a friend etc, I don't want to hassle people who aren't interested and don't want to loose my books/waste time putting them in places where they wont even be looked at!

Reading Aureol's post about homemade washing up liquid made me think it's surprising Avon have never (to my knowledge, anyway) tried to tempt us with pretty smelling, hand friendly washing up liquid - after all, I noticed a range of make up in a recent Kleeneze catalogue which came through my door..........

ooh makeup in Kleenze catalogues...

I was talking to a new customer yesterday and she was saying she had had a kleenze catalogue, she wanted to order some items, filled in the order form, and left it all outside, the man never came back with her order, he took it and that was it.

so he ain't going to get her order for makeup..... lol

I was happy to leave the book out but surprised that she has never come to collect it - and also slightly glad that on this occasion I hadn't actually ordered anything (being skint!). Presumably it will still be there when I get home so I will have a squizz to see if there is a number or address...

Randomly I've had some senses shower gels come completely sealed in plastic...so chance of leaking...but seems to be random as to whether they're sealed or not! A common thing I find is the lids not being on mens spray deoderants, have to rummage around and work out which lid goes to which item!


Just catching up on posts - been a lot since yesterday! - I have a few customers who've been short on money, waiting for payday - I'd say to them, you can hang onto it until x date, after that point you'll have to return it as you have to pay avon. Works a treat for my customers, genuinely some people have something crop up (car problem etc) so they don't have enough money until payday (whether thats benefits payday, or actual payday), give them the benefit of the doubt for another order, but don't do it to the point where it lets them take the p*ss! Got a great example of that....tried to deliver one order last thursday, she'd forgotten I was coming so had no money (its £32 order)...she said any evening at the weekend was fine...saturday - no money...sunday - no money, agreed for me to text her, I checked I had the right number by checking the last 3 digits with her....text her twice this week with no reply! I'm going to be polite and assume that perhaps shes having phone problems, and drop a note in tonight to get her to contact me if she still wants it.

Just wondering if any of you recieve tax credits? I'm unsure as to how to declare my income if I don't have the foggiest how much it's going to be.

Lozza - you have just reminded me why I'm only doing friends and family for the moment.......Will maybe start doing Avon 'properly' in the run up to Dec 25th!

trying not to be disheartened, went back to try and collect the rest of my brochures and only managed to get another 7 with no orders. Have prepped these with sticker asking for house number if do not want to receive avon, and have posted them back out.
Now I will just have to wait until monday and hope for a few more orders. Still to ask family and friends but dont want them to feel pressured to buy anything just for the sake of it so am just going to casually mention that I am now doing avon if they ever want anything.
