Am I a right-hand lane hog?

I disagree, If it is safe to move over to the middle lane, why wouldnt you move over over to let someone join, it is courtesy
Yeah it can be very dangerous to not let others in on sliproads.Even though the onus is on them to blend in, it can be downright dangerous to not help them out just because its your right of way.I have even been actively blocked before with the other driver slowing down/speeding up as I tried to merge in.
If you are going to move over though and you are doing less than 70, you just speed up a little before moving over(if its clear).0 -

So I can happily go up to 85mph readout on the motorway before risking points (76.5mph in reality). If you're doing 63, and I'm doing 75, it's not going to take much to overtake you!
Don't be so fixated on speed limits - they are outdated, unrealistic and as you've proven, driving at the speed limit doesn't make you a good or even a safe driver!
OP, for God's sake, ignore the 'advice' given above - you'll lose your licence very quickly if you don't. I wonder how long we will have to wait until iamana1ias starts a thread about how they were stopped by the police, fined and given points for drivng at 85MPH on a motorway??"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -

An eternity, mate :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
17 years driving, not been stopped yet. Rarely drive on motorways during the day and rarely stay below 85mph. Never received points.
Guess your theory sucks.I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care

Then I sincerely hope you get your collar felt very soon."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -
Maybe his speedo is even more rubbish than he thought.0

Why?
It's not dangerous to do 85+mph on an empty motorway at 2am!
(For the record I don't speed in 20/30/40mph areas :A)I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care

If you're referring to me I'm female.
I've pretty accurate speed measures from taking the car on the track, but thanks for the concernI was born too late, into a world that doesn't care

That was a bit rude. I had a very good driving instructor and I will not have a word said against him.
If he didn't at least discuss the need to keep left where possible with you, and didn't emphasise that outside lanes on a dual carriageway or motorway are "overtaking lanes", not "fast lanes" or "I can't be bothered to pull in again" lanes then he's not quite as good as you seem to think. Or if he is as good as you think then perhaps he did say this and you missed it or misunderstood him.
In any case, now is your chance to correct this problem with your driving and preserve their good name. The driving test in my area doesn't even cover dual carriageways and as I mentioned this is classed as a motorway so you don't get to drive it with L plates under instruction. If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0 -

Make up your mind.
One post must be rubbish then.0 -

Then don't speed on motorways either, regardless of the time of day!"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0
