....this is a friend who I have felt the need to keep up with and use to spend more than I could afford Time to re-evaluate m'be? I know I've weeded out a few 'friends' who used to make me feel inadequate by the choices they made in their lives--foreign holidays, theatre weekends, etc--until I began to realise it is very true that others can not make you feel anything YOU won't allow them to, a bit like an intellectual sticks, stones & broken bones. It's one of those sayings you have to let loose to roam around your sub-concious before you go 'A-oo-ohh' , nodding slowly & turning your head to one side :p In fact, I had a call from one of them about three weeks ago; they were off to France on a cheapie SIZE=1]yeah! for them perhaps![/SIZE & for the first time in eons, the thought of what I would do with that money never entered my head till this very minute!.....

I even remembered to fill up with fuel yesterday to tie in to a known spend day, so that I don't have to start Monday morning with a failure already in the bag.
Hallelujah! Doesn't that feel soooo ggoooooooood, when you actually get everything in the right order :D Confession-time here folks, I still get it wrong at times but when I get it right..party-smiley-017.gif

....Seems there are actually quite a few runners on here :j
Afraid the only runners I'm remotely interested in are of the bean variety :rotfl:Strangely, I had a conversation with my nice neighbour along similar lines yesterday afternoon. I have NEVER had the slightest inclination to do any sport, apart from [singles] badminton & very basic tennis, basketball, javelin & long jump; I get to fulfil my shot putting while lobbing the loo rolls & things up the stairs! I quite enjoy watching the sport-smiley-026.gifbut my arms are too short to play a decent game, & perhaps the odd event on the telly but could possibly book2.gif or puzzle-book way beyond olympic class kult.gifMy asthma wasn't diagnosed till after I'd left school & I wonder if that had something to do with it, as my teachers didn't seem convinced that my lack of enthusiasm was anything other than that. Then again, we can't all be the same or like the same things can we--how boring Life would be undecided.gif

And so say all of us :o One thing that crossed my mind was to maybe do your shopping on line? Yet another confession SIZE=1]I'll be doing penance all week at this rate![FONT=Trebuchet MS I haven't done so myself as I like to see what I'm buying, but even if you got stuff like the tins & spread & stuff, all you'd have to think about would be the fresh? Just an idea...

We've a special lead for Iggie & she is supposed to walk, but after an initial wander she scampers up the back of your legs to sit proudly on your head like a crown :D Really gives me a giggle when I spot folk doing a double-take, as I suppose the last thing you think of seeing is someone wearing a "lizard" on their noggin when you're out for a newspaper :rotfl:I keep threatening to take her into shops, as the signs say No Dogs & she isn't--wicked of me, but oh-so-tempting!

Had another nsd; I've checked my receipts this time & I'm on No 8 as of 11th--told you that tablet mussed my head, like it wasn't bad enough already :(

I hope my post has helped you smile today. I don't like it when sad things happen & I share your tears & fears with you, even if I don't always say so ((HUGS)) x

Sorry about the double post it wouldn't let me quote more than 3 people in the same post!

He's more than welcome here - and will probably fit in just fine, as the house is already over-run by hundreds of Pocket Dragons :)

Cheers CW, I'll send him along to yours on Thursday night, he'll be able to help chomp the grass for you on all those lawns. He just needs a little 3 in 1 every now and then, no poop or anything, he's a robot dragon and not very high maintenance, we'll charge his batteries and he'll be good to go.

OK I'll try again!!! Keep losing my post. Morrning All. Decided I'm going to the pub after the race so spend day for me. Hope everyone has a nice day.
Boultdj, this kept happening to me a while back so I got into the habit of either writing my post in notepad or word and cutting a pasting in to the forums or writing in the forum and before I hit the submit reply button I copied the text and pasted it in to a document application. That way if the post or the internet connection went bubblies up I didn't lose what I'd written.

At first I thought Chompy would be good company for Iggie, but then got to thinking about how any prodigy would be  Most folk around here keep a distance from us now when we take her out for a walk, let alone a fire-breathing version! An'now I'm thinking about those gorgeous donkgons--or are they drakeys?--in Shrek :D
You could share him with CW BMF if you like, he's really cute honest although Iggie may have problems procreating with Chompy on account of him having metal nuts :D He's all shiny and he has piercing blue eyes, would let you see a picture but we ain't allowed to post personal website links so you'll have to use your imagination.
We're off to Normandy BMF, been saving pennies for ages, can't wait for Friday morning to arrive, I need the break, shall miss the peeps on here though, but I'll have a glass of cider or two for you all whilst I'm away.

Better get a wiggle on, still got packing to do some ironing and some work to get done. It's cool, fresh and raining here so I may take the opportunity to get out in the greenhouse and sort stuff out, got herbs that need potting on and some of the house plants could do with a little TLC before I go away.

sat was a complete wash out, we had takeout and booze, lots and lots of booze, because we had to have our 16yr old dog PTS, she was starting to suffer, and it would have been cruel to keep her just for our sakes, its hurts like hell espesh coz we have had her since she was only 6 weeks old :(:(:(:(

I'm so sorry, know how you feel lost my jack russell three years ago and it took me back reading our post. She was 20 and an ickle monkey, it took a while to talk about her without feeling guilty. So please don't you, you did the right thing she's no longer suffering!! Big big hugs lol x

It's awful, isn't it, but unfortunately it's one of the downsides of being a responsible petlover/owner. Deep down you know you did the right thing and eventually you'll come to terms with it, but it's going to take time. In the meantime, be kind to yourself, you're going through a lot.
Lots of sympathetic ears on here if you're feeling down and need a moan

poor you, sounds like you made the right decision but it hurt like heck. Are you feeling better today? It took me a year to get over one of my pets disappearing when she was 2.5yrs old.

today maybe a NSD, considering some online purchases...

Oh Webitha, that's awful :( We had to put my 11 year old labrador Zak to sleep in September 2007 and it was just terrible. We also had him from when he was 6 weeks old. But he just had so many health problems that he had such a low quality of life - that didn't make us feel any better though. Hope you are okay :grouphug:

OMG! I feel your pain BDINI - that happened to me a couple of years ago when I got Sky installed and the guys tramped wet, muddy boots all over my living room carpet. When I asked them to take their boots off they said they couldnt cos of health and safety - I said "yours or mine, cos Im not gonna be responsible for my actions!"
At which point I'd have handed them old carrier bags to put over their boots ;)
