Yesterday was NSD #24 for me, so second revised target smashed :T
Sorry I didn't get on-line either to report it or join in with the trip yesterday - would have loved to, but didn't like to ask OH to fire up his computer just so I could ignore him for the evening.......
Yesterday started with me deserting him in favour of GD1s 7th birthday party. As that finished he was heading out for an afternoon of hockey umpiring, so (having helped clear out the hall DD had hired and dropped stuff back at her house) I had 4 hours to kill - and had to l try not to spend any money in all that time :eek:
Started off with a visit to OH's branch of the gym, where I had a swim. That killed the best part of a couple of hours by the time I'd driven there, got changed, spent an hour in the water, then got showered, dried and dressed.
Decided to see if I could still find my way to the big Mr A in that area (which I managed with no problems - impressed myself as it's about 18 years since I did that particular run out) to see if I could get some new - smaller - trousers for work. That would have ruined my NSD, but I'm getting desperate for some due to my weight loss (the ones I bought when I started work last November are starting to look more like hipsters now!). They didn't have any in my size and the shorter length though so NSD saved..... but it means I'm going to have to try again for trousers whenever I'm passing a branch which could lose me an NSD in August
As I was about to leave there (and was trying to think of somewhere I could go and mooch without spending for at least another hour) I got a call from OH. The hockey was seriously over-running, so he asked if I wanted to meet him there and gave me directions to find the place. I was surprised by (but pleased to receive) this invitation, as up until now he's kept me away from his hockey crowd (worried about the ribbing he'll get because of the age difference between us). I was only there about half an hour once I found the place, but it was still late by the time we got back to his for him to shower and change (it started to P down as I arrived) and then went out for take-away pizza (he paid).
I took a batch of Twinks with me (ginger version with a chocolate coating) and a batch of Jo's Florentines - both of which were very well received, with the remnants being left there this evening much to his delight
Going to have to decide what to take with me on Friday, but as I'm only going up for the one night next weekend I don't need as much of whatever I take(He's off with hockey from early Saturday morning until late Sunday evening, but I'm taking DD and GDs out for the day as GD1 asked for trips out instead of presents from family - 'cos she'd get 'loads of stuff' from the friends who came to the party - so it means I've not got as far to go to theirs on Saturday and still get to see him for a few hours
)
Today was a totally chilled 'do-nothing' day again - I'm loving days like that, even if the TV is on with F1, golf and athletics (some of which I ignore by reading while listening to my iP0d). But he doesn't mind me asking stupid questions about whatever's on (DH hated that, so it was better to stay out of the room and away from him), which means I'm actually managing to watch some of it without being totally bored now
Off to work out an initial target for August and post on the new thread.......Cheryl0 -
A quick update to post my final total for July
Spend day on Saturday driving up to Mam's in Newcastle, and also on Sunday travelling from there to Edinburgh by train, a few drinks in afternoon & evening as well as something to eat. Taxi next morning to central Edinburgh and then spending stopped.
Onto Royal Scotsman at lunch time and did not need to sped again until disembarking on Friday morning - they organise the holidays so you do not need to spend anything, although we spoiled an otherwise NSD on Tuesday by buying a bottle of special malt whisky after distillery tour. Meant NSD's on Wednesday and Thursday. Started spending again on Friday with lunch, drinks and refreshents on train back to Newcastle. Stayed at Big Sis's, called in to see Mam again and then drve back to Wisbech to pick doggies up from kennes at 4.30 pm - so spends were top-up of fuel as it is cheaper up there, balance of kennel bill, refreshments en-route, and a bit of shopping at Mr T's later in evening.
Anyway, I will be giving full details of the holiday when I get round to it but for the moment, reporting NSD's NUMBER 13 & 14 to take new total to 14 which I believe gets me a refilling bottle of champagne - which is just as well as they nearly ran out of champagne on board the Royal Scotsman with us lot on it - they had to radio ahead to next station for more to be delivered - and no rubbish either - only the best for us - vintage Dom Perignon!!!!!
I've already updated my signature and signed up for the August challenge so I'll see you all over thereMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Just a quick update on July.
If I carry on the way I was counting it, I only managed 5/10.
However, if I make it a bit easier for myself, and not count budgetted spends (ie food shopping and bills), then I managed 12
Next month I think I'm going to stick with the target of 10, but not going to count the budgetted spends. It will help my morale on it slightly more, as it was so disheartening to see the spend days racking up this month::: Total Paid Since LBM (27/05/10): £4639.85 Official Debt Gone!! :T ::::AThat money talks, I don't deny, I heard it once, it said "Goodbye"~ VSP2011: #104 ~
