Morning all. Today is a NSD - at work and brought my left over pasta for my lunch. We are taking the little loos to the cinema later to watch Toy Story but I brought the tickets on Friday my spend day (saved some money as we already had our 3D glasses - such a rip off that they make you pay for them!) I have popcorn in the cupboard which I have left Mr Looloo to microwave - god help help me! and we have drinks that I brought when I was shopping on Friday. So I am feeling quite proud!

I will have a spend day on Tuesday as free cinema trip with my friend (seeing Pretty Woman) but we will eat afterwards. Monday I will try for a NSD.

I need to go shopping at some point next week for Mr Looloos birthday on Sunday so need to get present and card etc.... so not sure how many more NSD I will be able to fit in.... and then August will be a nightmare as we got a week off.......

    Hello lovely debt-busters!

I'm aiming for a NSD tomorrow. I know I'll do it, but I have to admit now that I might spend *some* money. I have a work meeting at 10am in a coffee shop. The person who is holding the meeting decided that it should be in a coffee shop, so I'm hoping that means that he'll buy the coffee. If not, I'll stick it on expenses. So even if I do have to spend on coffee, I'm still claiming a NSD because I'm not spending anything on me, for fun.

    Is that cheating? :p

No NSD for me today either. Had to buy compost to earth up me tatties and also visited B & M as needed some more clothes pegs.

What/who/where is B & M please? I've seen a few people mention this but I don't know what it is :(. I feel I'm missing out on another place to spend my hard earned pennies.:o..........but then again it may be better if there isn't one around this area ;)

DH went shopping for me today as we had neice round and he wanted to get out of the house! I've now paid him for it (the shopping that is, not for going out of the house)(online banking is great!) and printer has been ordered. Found the cheapest price for what I want, free delivery and cashback too :T. Only problem is the ink cartridges all seem to be mega expensive now .

Have found a few cheap(er) online sites but I hope the cartridges last a few months at least. One bonus is the Chairman of the Community Centre I am (voluntary) Secretary for has said they will pay 25% of the cost of the printer as I print so much stuff for them :T:T. I also get an allowance for the ink cartridges :T:T. Has anyone any recommendations for cheap cartridges? I'm not bothered if they're recycled or new. Have been buying my current ones from Mr T's but don't know if they do these new separate colour ones.

    TIA.

It is definitely all about being organised and thinking ahead, sometimes it takes a while to get into that mindset - don't be too hard on yourself, you're doing really well so far.

Re the work spends, I really wouldn't count those as spendy days at all - you'll be getting the money back and they are essential spends really, not much choice about them. Most people on here don't class work spends as spends, so you're not doing anything different. Have a think about it anyway, just wanted to mention it to you.

Ah, prior to posting, I really should have looked back at what you said, Spoon!

That's good then. Hopefully I won't have to spend anything at all, on coffee or otherwise, because it takes so long to claim it back. But if I do, it's still a NSD for me. Have made my sandwiches, set my alarm so I've got time for a (healthy?) breakfast and got petrol today so I don't have to panic tomorrow.

Did a bad thing today though. Checked my bank and realised I was £7 under budget. :j Went to see Toy Story today, so knew it wasn't going to be a NSD, but in preparation I got my snacks from Tesco yesterday. But then when I was in the pictures I bought a Ben and Jerry's for £3.30 :p. It was GORGEOUS. So I don't feel too guilty!

is Mr Candyapple's favourite refuge, its a bit like Wilkinsons but you just never know what you'll find there, I always spend way too much on absolute tat in there :D Last time I was there I just couldn't leave the shop without purchasing an alarm clock shaped like an apple, a mug with a cow on it and a pig egg-timer :rotfl:

Sneaking in via OH's computer (he's watching a triathlon :o) to report today as NSD #20

Managed to get up at a reasonable time this morning, and went to try out the course for the 5 mile race I'm debating in October. Managed about 3.5 miles (at about my normal pace) before having to alternate walking and running - found it really hard work as (1) it's road which I don't like much, and (2) it's almost totally flat which I'm not used to. I can already feel my calf muscles aching differently to normal from it, but can't think of any flat roads round home to practise this type of work :o
