Today was another spend day for me but i got £10 of free cheese and used my £5 Morrisons petrol voucher to pay for a cheap toaster (well i had to put 99p towards it). Hope you are all doing better than me at not spending. What is it about having a spend day that makes it so easy to make the next day a spend day too?

Happy Birthday Nottoobadyet :bdaycake: hope you've had a lovely day & been really spoilt!

Mr & Mrs Skaps, wishing you health & happiness in your married life!!

Fab news Moneypenny about the jeans, well done you!!!

For all the oldies amongst us, i love this poem by Jenny Joseph

When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn't go, and doesn't suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals, and say we've no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
And run my stick along the public railings
And make up for the sobriety of my youth.
I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
And pick flowers in other people's gardens
    And learn to spit.

You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat
And eat three pounds of sausages at a go
Or only bread and pickle for a week
And hoard pens and pencils and beermats and things in boxes.

But now we must have clothes that keep us dry
And pay our rent and not swear in the street
And set a good example for the children.
We must have friends to dinner and read the papers.

But maybe I ought to practice a little now?
So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised
When suddenly I am old, and start to wear purple.

Have to admit to only being in my 30's, but trust me, when i dragged myself out of bed at the crack of dawn, feeling shattered & saw how many grey hairs i had i felt really old!!!! (damn the grey hair gene i inherited from my dad )

So LSD today on hair dye, am now a vibrant red & feeling soooo much better :D
One of my faves, always makes me smile, Purple is one of my fave colours but at present I'm wearing fuchsia pink

If it makes you feel any better Keiss I was 51 last month and my son is coming up towards 32... My 'baby' is 26 and I have 2 grandkids. On the plus side, they've all left home and I can live my life now and I have every intention of growing older disgracefully:cool::cool::cool:
Oh I dream of both my boys leaving home!! I love them dearly, but DH and I would love to just do what WE want, rather than working who is taking who where. DS2 is off to college in September, but staying at home, so another two years to wait to get rid of him. Though he is talking about staying at the same college to do his degree ...he is definitely getting digs then....if we can afford it that is :o. Mind you, our food bill will drop dramatically when they are both away!!
    I'm 23.... :o
Seems there is a batch of you young 'uns about!! Good to see you are involved in getting your finances under control, rather than wait until later on in life (like I did :o).

I came on to update on today, probably one of my highest spend days this month, 150 for a netbook, worth 250 though. I got it at a trade show, well not quite but we'll call it that, for my sister. I am being slightly evil though, I told her she could have it in 6 months for her crimbo pressie or she can have it now once she signs on.

I also bought a raffle ticket and chips. Before lunch I had had an ice cream - free - and sweet popcorn - also free! MMM size 16 may be a pipe dream!

Now, where to put that KITTY - I picked up a cheap dog crate the other week - do I put the kitty in there (does not seem a good welcome for the poor thing), the woofers in there, or maybe get in myself and let them fight it out? Decisions Decisions Life is all about decisions

    Hi BDINI
Well you are definitely NOT old (being in your 30's) but I shall forgive you that because I love that poem as well. Purple is definitely my favourite colour and I am seriously considering having some purple highlights in my hair as part of the growing old disgracefully bit.

Unfortunately I have the same grey hair gene and, being very dark, they will insist on showing themselves :mad::mad:

Glad you're feeling better now that your grey streaks have been disguised:D:D

Good morning. NSD gang! Is Big Mumma still lounging around on that lilo near the hypermarket, ogling all the blokes in their berets with the stripey jumpers and the strings of onions round their necks? Someone please tell her she's giving us Brits a bad name!

(Still haven't spent anything, and it will soon be beddy byes for me.)
