Ice- I love my coloured tights and as far as shoes - anything goes really, I tend to wear dolly shoes especially if its for work or pumps

There's far too many Americanisms creeping into our daily language and whilst I'm whinging what's a Cup Cake? Surely they are Fairy cakes.

No, they're buns. Fairy cakes are for namby pamby Southerners :D

I must agree about Americanisms though especially gotten and thrifting.

    Morning all

Weather is awful here, all damp and looks like it could rain at any minute.

I had put out a maxi skirt, (now I have a long slip for under it so it's no longer see through!) vest top, little cardi and gladiators however I dont think I'll bother wearing that now due to the wet weather.

So, looks like its jeans and warm clothes instead! Come back summer.

Hope everyone is OK this morning.

Vix, how much were they @ debenhams? It was the print that attracted me to it tbh, i googled it after i had won it. While i am on the subject of dresses, you know the one i got from your shop, i am going to alter it after i have lost another half a stone (didn't want to do it twice) regarding styling it, i was thinking tights and biker boots??? What kind of jacket, biker jacket or would that be overkill?? Love it but i am venturing into new terrotry (sp!)... I know your the best person to ask :)

    Sharron x

Sharron - I'd shorten to just on the knee, black opaques and black ankle boots, black studded or patent belt and definately a biker-style jacket. The contrast with the grown-up tie-neck and tailoring cries out for a bit of rock-chick naughtiness!

They were expensive in Debenhams. Even in the Blue Cross sale they were out of my price range. Hope you'll share a photo when it arrives!

I'm currently rocking a satin kimono and some flipflops, accessorised by a couple of whopping great big zits...nice!

Daydreambeliever - buns! Love it. Sound far more tasty than a namby-pamby "cup cake". xxx

Morning. I'm in old jeans and a grey Next gypsy style blouse but hubby just informed me we are going out for lunch (to an American Diner) so I need to change. Not sure what though yet.

I'm glad zits are fashionable today as it's something I always wear.

    .

Hmm! Bun means bread dough type thingy to me .......I'm with "fairy cakes" .......scrummy little amateurish-looking mouthfuls with drizzly glace icing or "butterfly cakes" with a titchy blob of butter cream icing in slightly burnt-at-the edges paper cases and far fewer calories than an over-iced cup cake !!

I knew I'd read the cup cake v fairy cake argument somewhere!

Currently slouching in Monsoon white linen long loose tunic, Tu black cropped leggings, Next soft cream pumps. Deliberating whether to go out for a few bits and a coffee or stay home and do some much needed tidying up!

Phew, I've pretty much spend all my spare time in the last 24 hours reading really long ancient threads in Old Style, you'd think I had nothing better to do!
Giggling at the ranting. Have to admit I don't like using most American words but there are a few I like such as thrifted (sorry Alex!) because it is so nice to say and erm...can't think of the others. I definitely call trousers trousers however, I wear my pants underneath them.

    today I'm wearing
    70s style jeans I overdyed bluey-grey - CS
psychedelic print jersey top - CS
    black linen waistcoat - CS
purple desert boots (love desert boots, they are a weakness of mine and perfect for this summer!) - eBay
socks - Next sale - WHY do I always think Next socks are going to be better quality than Primark? They're not.

LOL and the Next 7 pair pack I got for Christmas leave horrendous traintracks round my ankles for hours after I take them off (my ankles actually being about the only part of my body I would describe as slim too!!):rotfl:
