    Hi Pania,

What is more concerning is that you need to revisit your income and expenditure. However you get through this month, you can't keep repeating it. You will need to totally revamp your budget.

As for the car, it's going to depend I think on how long you have had it now, how long you had had it when the fault developed, what the fault is, and the fact that the garage who sold it to you lied to you as they told you they had no responsibility. I don't have all the facts, but you could call consumer direct who could advise you further.

thanks for your response CFC, the problem this month has been that as i've just changed jobs i've had a completely basic month. Next month will be alot easier as i have commission etc coming in. I sat down last night with pen and paper and worked it al out. Think i overspent on the phone bill this month and had the bf's birthday so thats where the extra has gone.
Will speak to consumer direct or trading standards today to see what the score is re the car.
Hope your day is going well

  • hi

are your bank charges of £77 the only ones outstanding? Im only asking because natwest were going to charge me £56 this month for going over my overdraft limit, i phoned them up and as im normally good with my accounts i had a good rant to the lending department who had been the ones who put them on and i said i thought it was bang out of order (in total i only went over the limit by £5) and they refunded them there and then. So give it a go.

However if you have paid out lots in bank charges over the last months/years then i would carry on and try and claim them back all in one go as recommended on this site.

    Hi one and all.

Has been a few days, lack of internet access to blame mainly!! Well with regards the bank charges has been a while since i've had some but they reversed a few about 5 months ago when THEY (ie the bank) had made a mistake on my account. As they have already reversed some this year they are refusing to reverse more!!!! AS a result it is my fullest intention to launch the CAG route of charge reclaiming!! Oh they are going to loose so much money to me!! :j Don't know how they can get away with it AND sleep at night, Grrrr. Anyone had any joy with charge reclaiming from the abbey?:rotfl:

    Hi pania :hello:

I haven't claimed back charges back, so can't help there, but good luck with it.

I've spent £10 today if it makes you feel better. :D I have bought a spending diary, but haven't used it yet so am going to have to get strict with myself. Food is my downfall I work in a supermarket so end up buying bits every time i'm in there it soon mounts up.

How was your friends dog after her operation?

Yay i have a reply!!! Thanks Zippy. I have a bakers opposite me that sells the best mushroom and pepper pizza ever. Is incredibly bad news on the purse (and waistline!!)
Spending a tenner when it's on a spending diary sounds very worthwhile!! so no guilt on that one please!!
Haven't started a spending diary yet, would be a good idea. Think maybe we should start a seperate post to keep the motivation going!!

Apparently to claim charges back you have to send the bank a tenner to get them to reveal the information!! sounds a bit about face to me but hey ho!! mates dog is making a good recovery, she currently looks like a lamp everytime she looks at you! Think her purse will be next for the anaesthetic!! it took a bit of a beating!

    Enjoy your day!!

No the spending diary was a pound :D the rest of it was cake :o and school uniform all reduced to a £1 couldn't let that one go.

A motivation thread sounds good, I'm feeling good at the moment, It always motivate me reading through the threads. I should be ironing, I will have to do it quick so hubby thinks I have been slaving away all afternoon :A

Good to here the dog is ok. I don't know if I mentioned it, but one of mine hurt her leg, two weeks after I canceled their insurance to "save" money, happened in Feb, the vet wanted to hang on as long as possible before operating and it finally looks like its on the mend-huge relief.

Have you made homemade pizza, its so good compared to the frozen ones.

Hey leave hubby under the illusion!! DFW is so much more fun!!!

Sitting at work bored with no appointments coming in! give me some of your ironing, will be more fun!!

Ok, £1 on the spending diary? thats cheap!! and as for the budget school uniforms, no harm in that. Make the most of it until they get to the "I can't wear that it's not ben sherman!!" age. will cost an awful lot more then!!
Frozen pizza? Hmmmm being veggie can only ever get three cheese or similar. Mate from NZ is over at the mo, During the ensuing jetlag he had me up eating dominos at 0115 the other morning!! terrible behaviour but atleast he paid!!
sorry to hear about the pups glad the leg is on the mend now. Thats a huge relief, my mate got a massive shock when she found out. Have got my wee tiny pony insured with petplan. I immediately rang and checked and they said in no cases would the excess be increased if he was poorly in anyway, phew peace of mind!!

Right motivational thread it is then!! Will design tonight so keep your eyes open. Happy ironing!!
