Hi Pania, sorry to hear about the situation you're in - at least you're not alone with it now you've found these boards.

Even if you can only reduce the mobile contract to £19, that's tons better than what you're paying now. But I'd try Honeybee's method first.
As PBradley says, if you can get a lodger in your situation will drastically improve. Try to look into this.

http://www.cccs.co.uk/ please don't hesitate to talk to them. They are a charity, not a commercial company, so I'm sure they would never reccomend you did something that was not in your best interests, and would be able to advise you of any pitfalls re changing debt management.

Your parents know the worst now. Show them your SOA and they will very likely see that you cannot go on as you are now.See if they are willing or able to keep the rent at £200 for more than a few months.

Take your car to a garage and ask for a quote. If you know how much the repairs are going to cost, possibly you could sell the car by discounting it by that amount and get something cheap and cheerful with lower insurance. Micras are great - they might look like toytown cars, but the insurance is one of the lowest available and the repair bills are reasonable too.

It might be time to look for a second job at the weekends or a few evenings a week. Every little helps.

Hello all sorry for bailing last night things really started to scare me as i was writing them down. Feeling a bit stronger now so managed to get the courage to confront things again. at work so being a bit naughty on the work computer!!

My parents know the situation, they have just sold my house and are buying a bigger place which means a lodger would be more of a possibility. (+bigger bills for me!) also doesn't help that i have a boyfriend who isn't willing to move in and pay a contribution but is more than happy to watch my tv eat my food use my DIAL UP internet!!! Cue rather large barney last night!! grrr.

I am going to get back to orange today and see what we can do. will also speak to CCCS regarding the debt.
I know that the loan was a hughe mistake and trust me i didn't want it to go ahead but i was so scared of telling them the situation i didn't know what else to do other than go with the flow.
Thankyou to the person who summarised my incomings and outgoings. adding it all up was the thing i was most scared of doing hence probably skirting around it all alittle. thats really helped and well it's there in black and white really isn't it.
I've done two or maybe even three on occasion jobs for the last year and a half. I've had to stop as i am absolutely exhausted and can't keep it up. was also affecting my relationship to. Once i've had a short bareak i'll give it a go again. Am trying to think of some other money making ideas also.

Thanks for the suggestions re amazon. Do the books have to be in pristine condition? Mine are all pretty well looked after but the obvious second hand tell-tale marks are there!!

right best get back to work else i'll get fired and that certainly won't help!!
apologies for the lack of smilies etc my work comuputer won't let me use them for some reason!!

Looking on the bright side - at least you will be able to offer first hand knowledge of what happens when you let your finances get out of control.

Another option for selling books is http://www.greenmetropolis.com/

They don't sell for very much money, but you can state the condition, and I found it a bit easier to get started than for Amazon. One thing you have to watch out for is the postage - if you don't ask for the right amount when you list the book, your profit can go down to pennies.

Before I had broadband, I used to use V21, who I found LOADS cheaper than anyone else. I note that they still have a dial up option where you can get 15 hours of internet access a week for a flat rate £5 a month (and various other options) :) Perhaps your boyf could give you a fiver a month and monitor his own useage???? http://www.v21.co.uk/dialup/home-lite-extra.asp

No, Amazon will let you specify the condition of your books in one of 5 categories, I think it is. :T
Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).
