I think you may mean the Cinema Exhibitors' Association Card
You download the application from the website: http://www.ceacard.co.uk/downloads.htm
If your local cinema is ODEON then dont bother unless your going to others, I dont have the card and only show railcard/national bus pass and they accept that. Free ticket for carer.0 -

It appears to be a regional thing. I know with some councils you can only register as sensory impaired.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

I live in Ely which is near Cambridge, other than the concessionary bus pass and disabled rail card, is there anything that I can apply for which would help me? I think I read about a card for cinemas, could someone fill me in?
Much appreciated in advance.
When planning to go to any place of entertainment, it is well worth telephoning first, and asking about discounts. Some places give you and your carer a discount, some might allow the carer to go free, it depends on each venue. HTH

I would be careful about assuming that special services are available in airports to disabled people- my husband has MS which, amongst many other things means he is registered disabled and often has to use a wheelchair to get around. Whilst waiting for a flight from Manchester Airport which was delayed by 3 hours we were told by the airline that we had no entitlement to use the lounge which would have allowed my husband quick and easy access to a toilet and place to rest. Instead he had no other choice but to stay in his wheelchair in a busy cafe for 3 hours. By the time we got to our destination, it took my husband a week to recover!
It is a legal responsibility of the airport manager under EC law and UK law relating to vulnerable adults.
When you make your flight booking you inform the airline that you have mobility (and toiletting) needs. The airline is responsible once you go to check in and thereafter. The airport manager is responsible to ensure that all is conducted properly within the airport precincts.
The point to watch out for is getting between the long term car park which is usually by bus, and this is where disabled people have difficulties. I use a service which which picks me up and gets me to the car. Will insert the proper name for the service when I remember it. It is available at all airports.0 -

Cambridge Corn Exchange do great concessions for people with disabililties - but you need to ring up rather than book on line. They also seem to find the best seats. I have used a CEA card in all the Cambridge cinemas without a problem but find Bury St Edmunds cineworld the easiest one to access. HTH0 -

You won't pay VAT on disability aids. (you don't need DLA for this - but just pointing it out, just in case you didn't know)Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked
