  • Hi Everyone,

I've been lurking on this thread for a while. I'm going to have a go at toffee vodka. Does anyone know where I can buy bottles?? I'm planning on buying a big bottle of vodka and making it into about 4 bottles of smaller toffee vodka bottles. Everywhere I look the bottles are either really big or really expensive. I'm trying to do this as cheaply as possible. Thanks in advance!!

  • Hmm I thought I'd posted on this thread but think I've posted on a Christmas crafting thread - doh!! Anyhoo, I bought some lovely kilner type jars from Home Bargains and want to use them for Xmas pressies. I can't decide what to put in them though. I thought about marmalade, but is that too dull? I make and give away a lot of chilli jam but fancied trying something new. Wondered about christmas chutney, cranberry sauce or onion marmalade?? Your advice would be much appreciated folks :) thanks.

    Hi all

Tinksy glad you are feeling a bit better

    Welcome Beakatron and jollymummy :)

I've just eaten some chutney made by a relative that I didn't really fancy the look of before, but I was very wrong - it's lovely! - rhubarb and tomato - so I'd recommend that combination for anyone that wants to make some.

Small bottles - there is a post somewhere on here about that, mum2one is the person to ask. Ketchup bottles or cheap small wine bottles that can be decanted elsewhere I think.

Jollymummy - definitely red onion marmelade! I've made my first test batch and now need to buy a load more onions to make for everyone! (Actually I also need to buy smaller jars lol - my Ikea Kilners just take too much to fill!)

  • Thanks Angela and Mrs Tine :) I do fancy onion marmalade and we have 10 giant onions drying in the garage from our allotment, so would be cheap as chips to make up.

I've bought these 100ml bottles for flavoured vodkas. I'm not sure how much P&P would be for you though as I always pick them up myself

ETA: they also sell 250ml bottles
