I'm sure you'll both find ways to keep warm.

    Such as those Slanket things?

My flatmate does actually have one! I have a hot water bottle... it'll be fine, although if I don't appear on here for more than a few days, feel free to check on me!

    He's got a slanket?

Hmm. Be afraid. Check under his mattress for Lakeland catalogues...

I think Slanket's are very sensible :p If you are curled up on the sofa with a blanket and want to go and make a cuppa you get cold, with a Slanket you take it with you :rotfl:

Lakeland catalogues aren't too bad, alarm signals should ring if you find Ideal catalogues - a million and one things you never knew you needed :D

Maty has explained it perfectly.... but as said before, we are here when you are ready.

And I'm with you on the heating thing now.... we have storage heaters which are useless to us with the hours we work so a friend kindly gave us two plug-in oil radiators..... combined with the broken seals on the double glazing it's going to be a cold cold winter!

Love and hugs from a psycho xx

When is Mike ever ready for us :rotfl:

I have another oil filled radiator if you need it, can drop it off too :D

  • :hello: Hello Mike!

Umm...I can never sound normal in anything I write but thankfully, no-one here cares, they let me pop in anyway! :p

Ditto what Maty & Psycho already said.

Mike, I'll swap you my conjunctivitis for your dodgy brake pads? (My car's leased through work, so they'll have to sort them.)

I wasn't able to open my eyes until xfactor tonight. :(

That would have been the moment I closed mine.

Our cat used to get conjunctivitis every new year's eve. Never sure why. Have your anti-bandit eyelids dropped down too like hers?

    Sending hugs and Optrex.

Mike good to see that you have posted. For most of us 2010 has been a turbulent year. We have all seen some good and happy times, but as always we then have the bad and sad times. We have been behind you with the house issue and look what happened so maybe between us all we can solve the other issues. The euphoria that was abundant on the old thread seems to have waned a little so come on band lets get behind Mike again. Do we have a plumber who may be able to help out here - a couple or three mechanics who would like to be in the spotlight - and how about someone who needs freelancer like Mike? Let's see 2010 end on a good note for Mike and for you all and for me. Not sure what I am after for a better year ahead cos as I get older I realise that actually it becomes harder. Those we love are getting older and some are slipping away. The problem is we are also getting older and one by one (in fact two by two) they leave us behind. So just for the final few months of this year lets have another good time like the DIY SOS period. Sorry have probably depressed you all here, but that just me at the moment - need some time out I think. Take care you all, loves you all like another family member, and will never forget your help when it is needed. Billie xx Com on Happy passed the bubbly!!

Not depressing at all Billie, a very insightful post :)

As we lose those closest to us we do get left with some wonderful memories to look back on with a smile once the initial shock and hurt dissipates.

It would be good for all of us to end 2010 on a high so lets start thinking of what would make each of us happy or happier and see what we can do to help each other get there :T

Anyone mind if I have a G&T rather than bubbly? Just can't cope with all those bubbles without falling down :o
