I'm one of the naughty ones in case you hadn't realised! Maybe I should correct that so it reads "nutty". Either/or really, both fit!

What a night, what a year,
We've had a laugh and shed a tear,
For all our friends who were not here,
We'll raise a glass of festive cheer!

I just made that up! lol

Maybe I should go to bed, I feel a bit hyper!

The civil justice system in this country is so pants it's not even funny.

Anyone have any suggestions on how we can get the system changed please feel free to speak up.

Maybe now is the time to mass lobby Vince Cable. Maybe we could all email him with an iplayer link to the programme. We have the support, I mean look at all the pages of well wishes and support in just these last few hours!

We can change the world even if it is one dodgy builder at a time!

    Poo

Maybe we could march Westminster in our hoodies, swing off the Cenotaph, daub illiterate grafitti all over the place and attack the Royal family when they are going to a show?

Then again that didn't seem to achieve much did it?

Maybe Martin could set up some kind of civillised and warm, online vote / petition where cowboy thieves and CRIMINALS get treated like CRIMINALS and face stiffer consequences instead of it being a risk free crime?

    Just a thought

It would be wonderful SW if Martin could help us somehow.

Anyway, I really must get off to bed now, I may look into lobbying Vince Cable tomorrow, though I'm going to busy at work as I haven't been busting a gut these last couple of days! I guess that means Christmas is over for me!

Good night all and sleep well.

    Take care,

    Fab poem Poo :T:T:T

I have been hyper too but have sat here quietly watching it through again and it is just as good second time through :j May have to head off to bed shortly as I am back in work tomorrow :( But didn't want to miss a single moment of tonight, it was almost as good as being back in Littlehampton.

Two of my favourite people have sent me texts tonight to tell me they were proud of me for getting involved and that brought another tear to my eye :o But in all honesty, how could you not get involved if you had the time and the funds to get yourself there????? It was an experience of a lifetime and I have made some great buddies. I can't wait to meet up with them all again in 2011.

  • Goodnight to everybody. I have just watched it back, so much to see. Loved SB's back with all the names on it. I honestly hadn't expected that Mike's Mob would get so much coverage. Me? I looked like a sack of spuds. I really must get some of the blubber off.

For those of you who would like to see Christine (she of the original emails). Two thirds thru the programme, Nick says "Two days to go" and disappears thru the front door, closely followed by the waif like figure of Christine.
At the end of the reveal we are all stuffing our faces with cupcakes baked by a neighbour of Mike, dozens of them all beautifully decorated - lovely gesture.

    Night Night everyone.

What a lovely end to the story, I remember seeing the original thread and its amazing how much things have moved on since then. The house is amazing, I hope it has made you and your family happy.

Good luck with getting the money back from your builder.
The early bird gets the worm but the second mouse gets the cheese
  • Just wanted to add to the congrats. Whilst I know that you've been living in this wonderful new home for almost 6 months now Mike, I hope you take as much joy from it today as you did on the day of the reveal. It was truly built with love. So much more precious than bricks and mortar

I found this thread, or rather the original one, when I was laid up with a broken kneecap back in May, I remember spending 2 days reading my way through it and I posted a few times. Sadly, once back at work, I've not been able to keep up with posts but I have popped in from time to time to lurk and I knew the show was on today so set the sky to record. So glad I did. It really boosts one's faith in humanity. So many good people.

Mike, they say good people attract good people. You're surely proven that.

May 2011 be all that you wish it to be.
