It's not just the engine swap though, it's the time, maybe it will take 2 people.

I don't want them to start and then the price adds up, or the engine is a dud.

I will get what I can - pop it into my ISA and then if a cheap car comes up and I'm struggling without one then I'll get it. If not, then I'll just keep adding to it.

If I don't get a job again soon, it will pay for a months bills.

If its not advertised with tax, and its not on the road, you can sned the tax disc in now to get a refund - you will get each full month left on the disc refunded (unless this has changed recently)

Remember you will also need to fill in a SORN declaration for the car as well. Not sure if this has to be done at the same time, though suspect it does.
