I had the Vanquis gold card once. Before I got it, my APR was 49.9% and when it arrived, they rocketed my APR to 59.9% and gave me a £3000 limit if I remember correctly.
I very promptly closed the account.
Lol that don't surprise me atall with their apr's..
I always think the best way for someone who has a vanquis card who is trying to rebuild their credit history is to reject any limit increases keep yourself on £250-£500 limit for a year or so then your sorted..
Still cant get over that the fact they gave you a gold card then increased your apr by 10% to 59.9%..
Oh well at least you are shot of them..0 -
Is NID still around?
I haven't posted in a while, was off relocating, was looking for his advice, i've been starting to fix my credit file, was after some expertise from the wise oneShe LEFT me, she LIED, and she made me foot the BILL ! :mad:0 -

Congratulations to you0 -
Can someone please help me with regards to Vanquis?
I have only just recently been accepted for a Capital One Card and Very account. I'm on a serious 2 year mission to completely rebuild up my credit status. :j
Would you guys advise me applying for a Vanquis Card too and if so at what point? I know too many applications can be bad so was gonna leave it a few months but i'm note sure what to do? :idea:0 -

TBH stick with what you have, you don't need loads of accounts to rebuild your credit history, make sure you pay the 2 accounts you have on time each month then in 12-18 months your report should be pretty good..0 -
Thanks Star-Fire.
I was unsure if I needed a 3rd credit account or not. I'm setting up Direct Debits to pay the catalogue and cap one and so hope those Green Zeros will soon be filling up my Credit File.
BTW - I love being in the Sub-Prime Club :j0 -
