Oh congratulations on getting accepted! Have you tried applying for Capital One to further boost your credit file? I started off with Vanquis and Capital One just a little over 2 years ago and now I've had/got some of the best cards on the market. Use your card wisely and it won't be long until you're reaping the benefits of credit cards too!
    Thank You :D
No I haven't really thought about getting both, I'm probably not helped that I'm starting uni in September and haven't managed to find a summer job yet :( but I have got around £700 in savings.
Only chose vanquis to apply to over capital one because there was £25 cashback!

Oh and he has been upgraded to Gold with Vanquis, so says the voice when he phones the customer service number. Except the service is worse now as it doesn't tell him his available balance anymore lol. (He cut up the card to stop spending it and currently paying it off to get rid of it).

    eVanquis is available now:

Yup, but as I said, he's cut up his card so no longer has the necessary details (specifically expiry date) to register. However, I expect there will be a gold card on the door mat in a few days lol.

Ah fair enough, if one doesn't arrive just report it lost, register with the new one, then cut up the new one!

As i have said b4 it does make you laugh that vanquis are giving away gold cards just to try make those customers feel that little bit more special, but still charge them 50% apr still, its a cheap tactic by vanquis but bet it works..
Wonder if they will bring a platinum card out which will only charge 45% apr..
Unless you pay in full as a vanquis customer, their main targets is to prey on the weak..

I had the Vanquis gold card once. Before I got it, my APR was 49.9% and when it arrived, they rocketed my APR to 59.9% and gave me a £3000 limit if I remember correctly.

I very promptly closed the account.

That's surreal! I was rejected with a £25k wage and no other debt (ok, I have a four year old default) and you were accepted with no wage!

    Congratulations to you :D
