Just had my Capital One Classic increased again! Gone from £200 in April 09 to £2000 as of today.

Credit file is looking good & green apart from an AP in 2008 on a paid off loan. Cannot wait to get a 'real' credit card ;)
Wondering how to have a life & not rack up more debts...

    Was that automatically?

They won't do mine, and tbh my rating wont be the best (in that I don't earn 70k a year or something ridiculous - but then I bet most of their Progress/Classic customers don't) but I've always paid my card on time, never overlimit etc, so really annoying I'm stuck on 200, surely I deserve a small increase?!

Going to write to their manual review dept asking for an increase... but wonder what chance I've actually got.... Just got my student loan documents for next year, I'll put them in to prove I'm got a reasonable guaranteed (unless I quit/get thrown out) income for the next 12 months, hopefully it'll help!

They don't have a manual review department for limit increases as far as I know. The standard response is keep your account and others in order and they will review you for an increase in time.

Infuriating I know but the way it is unfortunately

They have to have one under the Data Protection Act, as the credit scoring is automated and under DPA there is a right to request a manual review of automated decisions. They don't actually tell you that though - I got the standard "keep your account in order" rubbish... what have I been doing for the last 20 months then!?

The address for it is different from the normal one however. So they probably just employ someone for that dept to comply with DPA rules - and the person just continually sends no letters......

Afterall, they won't want to be seen to be accepting too many manual appeals - that's an admission that their scoring models are not right.

Will have to wait and see what they reply with, just printed it and 3 pages of my SFE offer later - might give them a summary of my bank account too

    19.9% APR and £2,000 limit!!

Sorry to quote my own post, but do you guys think that limit is quite good given my circumstances? What have other guys out there with Sygma cards got limit-wise upon account opening?

simax - It looks good to me. My initial limits with sygma have been less than half of that and the interest usually 24.9%

Got the PIN today, and the missus got her card too. She got a £1500 limit and 24.9%. Sorted.

Curiosity got the better of me today and thought I'd chuck in my details for their MaxiMiles card - accepted with £2,500 limit. Only 3 weeks after applying for the FlyBe (£2,000).

I think 2 cards is enough now (Fancied using their 3 months 0% on an iPad 2 so I can stretch it out and keep my money in savings for a bit longer :) )

    :D
