Vanquis are weird, peep this.
last October I applied for a card, got the 10-14 days then rejection.
totally forgot so last month I applied for it again, waited 3 weeks and phoned and they said it was cancelled because I applied within 6 months, even though there was only around 5 days left to complete that 6 months and was told to wait till August.
now no idea why i did this, but I went on the Granite website knowing full well it was owned by Vanquis and applied again, same message 10-14 days, that was 2 days ago.
this morning a woman phoned up and said I was accepted n went through the whole cash advance thing.
so i cant apply after near 6 months but its no problem to apply after about 6 weeks.
so erm, if any of you are the in the same boat, I guess you may aswell.
just need to work out the next move now I dont want to apply for anything as I have 45 searches and 3 late payments roughly 5 months ago, I think ill wait till next year and get something, or wait a couple months and try my bank0 -
I have just got my granite card and not yet used it. I have a number of cards and some report lots of data like balance, payments made, is it miniumum, amount of cash advance etc. Others dont report that at all just that I pay on time. Does anyone know if Vanquis supply all of the "extra" data to the CRA's as I want to take a cash advance but I will do it on a card that does not report cash advances as they look bad to other creditors apparently. Sygma dont report it and neither do the Co-op, only B/Card and Cap One give all this data out every month.0

In the Vanquis thread recently somebody mentioned that Vanquis supply all data to the credit agencies - Makes me wonder if they do this on purpose so that cash advances etc, show up and make you less desirable to other lenders and thus keeps you a sub prime/Vanquis customer for longer!:dance:Quidco Payments In 2011 - £724.21

Just used my Sygma card, it was a one off payment using Western Union. WIll be able to pay it all off in one go on the next statement. Can't be bothered with the cash advance showing up as it is not always a sign of sheer desperation, lack of money and impending bankruptcy. Surely the banks would want you to take them out, they make more money from them.0

That sounds good. I'm not looking for a huge limit just a lower APR and step towards prime lending really. If I got the same limit as on my classic card then I would just close the classic account anyway. If I get a higher limit I will definately be closing Vanquis as well.
Yenool. Did they give you the progress card in the end?Debt free May 20110 -

JD Williams statements are produced every 28 days from the date the first order was charged to your account.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -
jd williams increase after about 3 statments normaly, but you can use it on most of their other brand sites also.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
