Have posted on mobiles section, but this post is a different query and aspects of 2 credit searches with 02.
I initially applied for a decent deal with Dialaphone on an 02 contract, after waiting- no word I cancelled the deal. I was told I had passed the credit check with 02 but had now cancelled.
So then I see the phone and colour I want on phones4u (didn't realize it was part of the same company) I went through them, again another credit check, passed again.

So, up to now it's 2 checks, both with Equifax, had no other checks in over 9 month's with Equifax. But I'm sure applying for phones isn't looking good, same company etc.

Now phones4u tell me they haven't got the stock! I really feel like applying directly to 02, but this wouldn't be good, another search? 02 again. Do you think it would flag something to 02 another search?

    Bit fed up now:o

That sounds good. I'm not looking for a huge limit just a lower APR and step towards prime lending really. If I got the same limit as on my classic card then I would just close the classic account anyway. If I get a higher limit I will definately be closing Vanquis as well.

Keep the classic and vanquis open for atleast a year before closing - would do away with the vanquis first though =)

  • will a payment plan affect my rating?

ive been giving the wrong meter readings for few months so the bills skyrocketed and i wasnt able to pay on time, now a lady from British Gas said next week she'll try and resolve that and to ease things shes put me on a fortnightly payment plan, pretty sure she said it wont show on my file anymore, but itll probably just show the late payments then nothing

im just worried that this would bring down my file even further and Ive been trying recently to shake things up, Ill see if I could put a note on my file explaining the situation or something.

really not sure where to go with this

If you havent let it default then you should be ok, just keep paying it so it doesn't come to that - check your report to make sure though.

  • yea Im able and are currently paying it now

I just dont know if this payment plan thing will show up on my credit file telling lenders I let the debt get out of hand or something of the sort, really want to clean up this file, is it even recorded on a credit file?

on plus side though I should be getting this bill thing sorted and get a nice refund and the lady said if and when I go on DLA i should get a reduced rate again, which would certainly help, but Im just worried about the file

My OH has just been accepted for 3 JD Williams accounts at £125 credit limit each (lots of previous bad history but nothing recently) this is the only company who have accepted him. So i have made 2 small orders on 2 accounts and will pay it off when they arrive, but i was wondering does anyone know when the credit limits increase? and by how much? thanks
