I have a current account with Barclays and I received a letter from them today which is a Barclaycard initial offer application form? Do they send these out to everyone or is it a pre-approved offer? Thanks in advance

For risk of repeating myself, try the pre application checker to be sure, see a few posts up
I would think it will be sent out to likely customers but will still be assesed and credit scored."We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now!"0 -

Well I didn't have any credit at all until the beginning of this year and got frustrated when I kept getting declined for credit due to a lack of credit history so I did something about it!onefortheroad wrote: »PinkPrincess what credit do you have at mo. what.s your credit file like
I've now got a credit history from Feb this year with all payments on approx 10 accounts paid on time each month, but I have a default on my file from 2 years ago at a previous address, where I had a dispute over a bill with a telecommunications company, and it got into 4 months arrears before it was settled.
I was on the electoral roll at my previous address for 1 year 4 months but I still haven't gotten round to enrolling myself at my current address
I've got quite a few searches on my file too
I've checked my credit file on both Experian and Equifax and on Equifax I'm in the 'Fair' category with a credit rating of 360 and on Experian I'm in the 'Poor' category with a credit rating of 674.
So I don't really know where I am on the scale to be honest!!!

Well for the next 4 years until your default falls off you are a very high risk when it comes to lending.0 -

Yes mate very true actually quite a few have have got the silver cards with a few discrepancies on their report.
Think with the big lenders out there it would be a complete different story getting accepted with a default though.0
