lol I tried decreasing my Halifax credit card limit today, to just above the balance. It asked if I was sure I wanted to decrease blah blah and it would no longer have automatic increases etc. I said yes and it said it was unable to consider a credit limit change at this time.
It seems my £1000 credit limit is stuck in a blackhole or something as I cannot increase it nor decrease it. I'm not going to waste money calling them up for something I should be able to do online. We’ve had to remove your signature. I was bankrupt in 2006, discharged 2007.
I have got a Vanquis Card & Jacamo Account with average limits, but struggle to get credit from more mainstream companies like Capital One and Aqua.
I have just applied for a mobile phone from Vodafone and passed this, does this mean I may have a chance with capital one or are vodafone easy to get credit with?
Thanks0 -

Yeah think cap 1 classic might be your best bet,if accepted keep payments on time for the next couple of years in time for your bankrupt to fall off your report then your report will start to take shape.0 -
Hi guys. I've been reading these forums for a while and I'm thinking of getting my first credit card. I saw an offer on totally money for a Capital 1 classic card with 1% purchase cashback. This sounds really good as I was thinking of the classic card anyway. Sounds a bit too good to be true though, I thought cashback cards were normally hard to get and I haven't seen anyone talking about the offer on here. What do you guys think? Thanks0

Would I be correct in assuming that the credit card offer appearing on my Halifax internet banking appears for everyone, and isn't an indication that I'm likely to be accepted for it?
If so, do they have some sort of internal scoring system to determine eligibility so I could ask them before applying?
Thanks0 -

No - it doesn't appear for everyone
It does not appear in the "Offers for you" section of my online banking , although I already have Halifax credit cards so they probably do not see me as a customer "missing out on a product"
Loans appear on my "offers for you" section "Whatever you're planning our great value loans at 9.9% APR typical could help. Borrow £7,000 - £15,000 over 1 to 7 years – apply online now for an instant decision."
If you are greeted with an offer as soom as you log on and before you can see your account balances , then I suspect that this is more targetted than the "offers for you" offers
I have been offered a websaver in this manner , but no credit productsHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0
