Dell now uses Creation finance just incase anyone is thinking of buying a computer or other eletronic gadgetry.

Is Santander winding down their store finance? It seems all the businesses are switching to Creation.

A further 6 months credit history, address history and length of time with your bank. It could be the simpliest thing that's helped.

    Congratulations.

    Hi guys,

I've just finished reading all 119 pages of this thread

Hoping I could get a little advice.

Some background info. I managed to get myself into a rather a lot of debt a few years ago. Partly by been totally irresponsible and partly through circumstances. Anyhow, when my debt spiral began appraoching 50k, I had that lightbulb moment and entered into an IVA.

Fast forward 5 years, I made my final payment last month so I'm just waiting for the paperwork to be completed.

During my IVA process, neither Experian or Equifax recorded my IVA and I was able to get a full current account with Smile (no overdraft) and 5 months ago, I opened a current account with A&L (1k overdraft) for the free £100.

I'm currently looking to get hold of a credit card, not to start spending on as I earn a pretty good wage (50k+) and have over 2k spare to spend each month so I pay for everything in cash. There are some occassions where I need a credit card though such as for car hire.

I applied for a CC with Santander as I was with A&L but was declined. I looked at my experian/equifax reports and this is what I saw:

    Experian:
    1 Default (10k) from 5 years ago
Smile current account (5 years old) all greens
O2 contract (4 years old) all green
Santander current account (5 months old) all green

    Equifax:
7 Defaults (48k) all 5 years old
Smile current account (5 years old) all greens
O2 contract (4 years old) all green
Santander current account (5 months old) all green

So my experian looks a lot better than my equifax.

Anyone give me any advice on which CC to apply for?

    Thankies.

Try Capital One and Vanquis because Aqua is very hard to get.
