That's the beauty of an internet forum - knowing people isn't a pre-requisite to having an opinion on something...

I'm quite happy staying thank you very much. This thread has been very helpful for me to build my credit rating. I believe you keep saying you're leaving again soon - maybe you should make it sooner rather than later if this is just some entertainment for you.

They decided it was best for them, I pay my cards off using my overdrafts (with much smaller amounts admittedly). I know they are repayable on demand, but the interest rate being far lower is worth the risk to me, and presumably them. Until they start advising others to do the same, I don't see it as problem.

I didn't claim you weren't - I know when I first joined the forum (and before when I was just browsing) I highly respected your contributions. In fact, I did all the way until you started posting again recently and started this personal attack.

LOL, look at post 1 mate - you like being on the thread I recreated (after Proliants original brainchild).... yea? Smell the irony :rotfl::rotfl:

You came into this half way through, I am actually the first to offer support and I do not judge people but to sit here and watch this guy moan about credit and say policies have changed (just cos he got declined) is utter nonsense, I therefore corrected him (several times) - my info is generally correct, check it, try it - see for yourself lol.

No inconsistencies in anything I do.... :)

I left cos of a spammer, they were calling people cripples etc - using my name, is that acceptable? Why don;t you ask the guy that just posted above and ask why he left? We done it together - we were both sickened at it. Point is, I came back cos people were saying I had an AE and I proved a point, why would I use an AE?

Oh i'll go, and close my threads with me - thanks for the idea. :T

No I don't smell any irony? As I said, I highly respected your past contributions (and imagine I would now as well if I could see them through the constant arguing). And in your absence the thread carried on perfectly fine anyway (not to say your contributions weren't needed).

Corrections are fine, but you've gone way past corrections now.

I didn't say you had an AE - and I didn't comment on why you left either.

You are the person who said you were leaving. And I don't particularly need the thread any more so it won't bother me, but if you want to be that spiteful then go ahead - someone else will just take over (maybe izools!).

EDIT: Just seen the other post. Good.

If you go back and check my post you'll see that I actually said I wasn't bothered, didn't mind, and thought it best they declined me. I didn't "MOAN" as you claim I did.

I also never professed MYSELF that the policies had changed, merely passed on information from a representative of the company CLEARLY STATING IT WAS NOT MY INFORMATION BUT THEIRS and advising readers should believe this if you trust what said reps are likely to say.

I also agreed with your reason for the decline, whilst simultaneously passing on the information from Creation.

Master of misreading and mis-interpretation, you really are.

Right. Block list. Thanks Callum! Hadn't thought of that (I never had to use that feature on a forum before :p )

  • Hi,

I've recently been declined for a basic bank account with lloyds tsb, however the letter states i can ask them to "take a second look" if i can send them 3 months statements from my current bank (Barclays cashcard account). I made myself bankrupt in june 2008 and was discharged feb 2009. My account with Barclays shows it has been run well - all green zeros on my credit file since the account was opened in june 2008 yet they will not upgrade my account. I was accepted for a vanquis card at the beginning of august and plan to use this to try and rebuild my credit status...

So i'm just wondering if it really is worth appealing for this bank account and has anybody had any luck from appealing for an account with lloyds before? I would prefer a full current account so do you think i could ask lloyds to give me a full classic current account in the appeal and if i ask for a silver or gold addition to the account there will be more chance they will accept it ? or have i got no chance at the moment?

    Cheers

Are you sure they put through an application for a basic account or did they put you through for a full account? Sometimes banks can give you the hard sell and lead you away from applying for basic...

... Have you gone through the post bankruptcy credit file clean up and ensured that all of your old accounts / defaults / CCJs / etc are marked up as satisfied or partially satisfied? And made sure no defaults are dated after your BR date?

Couldn't hurt to appeal. There's a microscopic chance you'll get a full account it couldn't hurt to ask in your letter but I wouldn't push your luck with gold / etc until you've been with them for a while.

    Good luck!

Thanks for your reply, I did originally apply for just a basic account on their website because i didnt think it would be credit checked then was thinkin i could be upgraded after an internal score.. since finding out no banks can upgrade "basic" accounts! i also wouldnt mind having one of their vantage accounts.

I have gone through the post bankruptcy credit file clean up and have had my records updated 2 defaults dropping off next year im also on the electoral roll.

im so just fed up with barclays and really would like a full current account!!! :D
