Can anyone advise? I've had Vanquis (on the advice of this thread) since Feb 2009 so have all those green blobs. Is is still to early to try for a mainstream card does anyone think? I have three CCJ's but three years ago, settled. Was wondering about Citibank or Barclaycard.
All help gratefully received.
Best wishes,

I fail to understand the point behind this arbitrary and (seemingly) meaningless comment...
...Do they call the AMEX Centurion the "Rich c*ck card" or the Egg Money the "tight fisted penny pincher reward suckler" card?
Going by your logic, they should.
Although having been a vanquis customer, and dealt with them enough times, I do feel an appropriate name for their cards to be "What were you thinking!?"
A lady in the flat downstrairs got some junkmail from Vanquis inviting her to apply so I penned "Don't do it!" on the letter before leaving it on the step
Meaningless comment yeah it might be, but also the first card a bankrupt will apply for is a vanquis WHY because they CAN simple.
Amex centurion card is maybe for rich c*cks with the majority of them with spotless credit history.
Just saying that majority of people who will be applying for the BANKRUPT CARD have bollixed up there credit B4 or been BANKRUPT.0 -

Hmm, some very interesting comments.
Let's put it this way. The majority of people in the UK are heavily indebted to the banks and therefore many will default or end up bankrupt due to the jobs crisis. This will inevitably drive up the number of subprime lenders. Also most that use these forums have tarnished credit histories anyway, so all critics need to tread carefully as they too could end up on the subprime list.
Yes, I am bankrupt and will be looking to take out one of these so called BANKRUPTSY cards in order to start again and rebuild my credit history once discharged. I will however learn from the past 10 years that credit should not be taken for granted as it will inevibatilly need to be repaid and also no job is secure these days in order to make guarantees.
Just my 2 cents.0 -

Happy days
You make me laugh izools 'bankruptcy is a fantastic teacher' you make it sound like its all a big laugh when its not,i feel sorry for people who have been bankrupt who's buisness or idea has failed and bankruptcy is the last resort, but for people who just could not be bothered or had no intention of paying money back and still racking up huge debts,if i was the banks i would never let them even through the front door of the bank let alone lend them money.0
