Has anyone else here tried Cap1 manual increase? I'm thinking of saying I want £500 now my Natpest is closed.... and hope they decide before Sygma appears on my credit file0

They won't budge. Their entire being is controlled by the computer and if computer says no, it means no! :rotfl:We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

So what's the point in having a manual review department!? And computer is never going to tell me I can have an increase at this rate! We'll see what happens Thursday when my statement comes out... I'd bet (ironic for me) that it's still £200
Which CRA do Cap1 search anyway? If it's Equifax I might try it, that file isn't too bad! Experian is probably a shambles (a bit like their company....)
I'm thinking of closing it down when I get an increase from Aqua and JJB, then I can try and get one from Halifax. I appear to have reached my limit though (~£600), as I have only been accepted for JJB after I closed Natpest. I don't understand it though, I say I have income of 12k, I thought you could have 50%... I have more like 5%! Obviously student status works against me, but only Aqua wondered if the 12k was true or not, the rest of them either accepted or declined (and if they've added a suspected fraud marker it clearly hasn't affected me). So if they see and believe 12k why not give me more credit!?0 -

I think you're just a little too impatient. Don't close any more cards down! Each of those accounts contributes to your credit file and makes it that little bit better. How else are you going to get the green 0's if you close any more accounts?
Leave things as is for the moment and focus on building some more history for when you apply to Halifax. Wait until some searches drop off your file and you gain another few months of greens. :jWe’ve had to remove your signature. Then I'd be only be left with Cap1, which would be Nov 2009, so only a year, and Aqua/Sygma, which are both newer. So might have to keep Cap1Problem is Capital One and their never increasing £200 is useless to me, so would rather it was gone completely than staying and playing a part in Halifax declining me
The searches all drop off in February (for 6 months), thought above that didn't matter? That's why Cap1 would need to go about Nov/Dec if I close it0 -

I doubt many could replace him for his wealth of knowledge but to name call is not fair, from what i'd seen all he done was spend time here helping people and maybe he got defensive because he knew his stuff so could argue his point till the cows came home lol
