  • Donnie the program was shut down, so should I re scan go to bed and do what you said in the morning?
    Also Closed my xp service pack is out of date what do I do, will all this make me re store my computer?

    Run windows update, but fix the infection and slowness problem first, if you don't have much ram, you have far too much running at startup

    If you want to work on it now, you could do a quick scan first to fix most or all of it, then do a long scan later to make sure.

  • Closed I looked at your link, I'm not very tech savvy, is there an easy way to re boot my computer? or do I need to do what you are saying i.e Windows update etc

    If you want to work on this now, set the malwarebytes quick scan off, then post your ram and commit figures, or leave the full scan running and go to bed.

    To reinstall windows, you will need either an xp cd, or a restore partition, but this will wipe your data and programs, which aren't presumably backed up?

    and download and run startuplite, and avast, avg7 is very out of date, and not much good anyway

    yes, quickscan may find the same things in 15 minutes, or may not, but the sooner you get rid of the bulk of the infection, and cleanup startup apps, the faster it will run.

    Please post memory and commit figures in task manager

    I did backup all my stuff, but I actually do want to reinstall everything, but my system restore disk wont work
