Out to work for £30 a month I guess she is - at least its tax free working !

Seriously I have a mate in her 30's and parents still bail her out & a few years ago they asked me why she is like that with money - I was gobsmacked, they could not see THEY were the issue & SHE took full advantage of it ! Her parents look to blame others for most stuff with her & she feeds them bull on that, they believe her...I dont say anything as I love my mate, if parents want to see only the good in thier children then no-one will change that opinion, its always going to be easier for them to believe its Seaniboy's, Dave, Steve, Anne's or Louise (insert any name you want) fault.
If I helped or saved you money - Thank me
If I helped you spend some money - spank me
    If I done both - :lipsrseal me:eek:

What phone did she get? Tell her to sell the phone and get a v basic one instead. She can use the money from the phone to pay until she gets a job.
    Gone ... or have I?

Assuming she doesn't blow the money on a deposit for a diamond necklace on credit...

Gill are you actually living in Durham now??
If yes, I'll send you a link to someone who may try and help you.
I'm fully behind you Gill, you do appear to be responsible to me as you are trying to sort the mess your daughter got into. P4u and the network must also share some of the mess this could create and I would follow Browntoa's advice and contact the network first.
It's crazy that your daughter tried to get something she can't afford, but also crazy for this to be given to her. She certainly won't be the last teenager to try this.

yes Lynsey, we're living in Durham now, Id be grateful for the link please.

I'm at work all weekend, so will contact 02 on Monday, to see if they can do anything.
If they cant do anything, then tough! she's gonna have to pay it her self, I'm just worried that if she doesn't pay it, will mine and my husbands credit rating also be affected and will our house be blacklisted.

    :(

I feel into this trap when I was 18 and could get credit, I had a job but was only earning £50 a week and the contract was £20 a month, doesn't seem a lot but an 18 year old will never be off the phone, the line rental is only one part of it, My first bill was £70, I couldn't pay it so the phone got disconnected, I got blacklisted and now at 30 I still can't get credit, the things most people take for granted I can't get like a credit card, bank account, finance, mortgage all because that one mistake, at 18 she won't care less, but at 30 she will.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I hope you get this sorted and stop it escalating. I just see unpaid d/d's and charges etc. which could make it all worse.
It's ludicrous a company can allow this to happen, the contract should have been declined - PAYG would have been a safer option.
I'll pm you the link now, although not guaranteed, this guy likes a fight - good luck.

are you saying that just that one phone contract has stopped you getting credit for 12 years?

Its had its effect, I can get credit now for the likes of credit cards but even at that I get a £200 limit, Things like mortgages are out the window, I got myself a contract phone recently in an attempt to rebuild my credit,
