Well, that's it done...Court at 9.30, forms checked and monies paid. Back at 12, and at 12.15 picked up form saying I was bankrupt (didn't even need to see Judge).

It's such a relief. Even better was not having to avoid/ignore my phone...have already given details to two creditors.

Lovely boyfriend came with me, and we went for brekkie in between the appointments.

Thanks to you all for your support. You're stars and I think I'll be sticking round here a bit!

  • Hi all,

I'm done too {thurs 22nd July}....so nearly a week in already!! 51 more to go! I can't be specific about my situation cos of possible legal stuff going on...regarding my soon to be ex husband. However what I will share is that everyone at the court was really polite and professional. I got a shock going from the "small" insolvency office down to the where the main court was operating, it was busy busy busy. Judge could see I was scared stiff and did try and put me at ease.... it was then all done and dusted at just gone midday just 1.5 hours in total.
I have had a call from the OR she has released my account for bills etc, I have to send various info and then I will have my interview proper in a couple of weeks, when she has had chance to read them and cross reference the file with my soon to be ex I suppose. That will be interesting.mmmmmmmmmmh Anyway Dojoman can you add me to the list that it was official on the 22nd July 2010.
    MC xx

We had a busy morning yesterday, both me and hubby had our interviews with the same OR, glad he went first because he reasurred me that the guys was quite nice and polite.

I am actually very surprised and at the same time very proud that my DH has been the one keeping me together during the final stages. He was very apprehensive about the whole process when we were told we should go BR,,, so yes im very pleased i have him:D

Well he was right, the guy was very nice. He asked DH a few figures etc (so i was running round like a mad woman pulling out files i had'nt looked at in years!!!) but he was happy with rough guess's. He did ask him if we had lived beyond our means but for people who've had no holidays, rarley buy clothes or go out you know what his reply was!

    Any way long story short.....
We have no IPA and our car is okay because i need it for work and its not worth much.
All in all we are very happy its worked out okay:T, obviousley if incomes change etc then we may have to pay IPA but i cant see that happening in the next year.

Does anyone know if we were ti start having to pay an IPA how long is that for, and do you get discarged after the year still???

    thanks :rotfl:
