Hi everyone, welcome to the July 2010
Bankruptcy Club.
This club is for everyone who has gone through the process of Bankruptcy during July 2010. So please feel free to join and post.
Pop your name on here, the date that you went Bankrupt and the stage that you are at now in your Bankruptcy. And then just keep everyone in the club updated throughout the next year about your journey through Bankruptcy. That way we can all stick together and compare notes and we will be there to support each other throughout the different stages in our Bankruptcy.
Remember this is your board so keep posting.
Obviously anyone can come on here and post anything that will help us all and you are all welcome. Any important questions that do need answering are maybe still better posted on the main board but if you do put it on here, then maybe we can help each other.
Hopefully it will be an extra place for friendship and support as we compare notes and discuss what is happening with our Bankruptcies.

Hi,After lots of reading these forums and seeking advice from CAB etc I have actually committed myself and booked a court date for my bankruptcy.I am 26,000 in debt to CCs AND 2 LOANS.I have been paying the minimum amounts for a few years and the totals are hardly going down.I will be leaving the debts in my will at this rate.I have prepared everything so that it will not be a big shock.I have opened a Coop cashminder account and changed all my benefits and important bills to it.I have cancelled my debt DDs and I have changed my phone number.I have paid some money in to cover the bills until benefits are sorted out.However,the CAB counsellor today was a bit concerned that the Coop account would be frozen.Is it best to not mention it on the forms but to tell the OR on the phone or is it safe to list it with the other banks?I have also been trying to just use cash for a couple of weeks.My court date is 8th July at Walsall.I am partly dreading it but also partly looking forward to starting a new debt free life.Thanks for all the help and advice on this site.Will look forward to reading everyone else's experiences for July!0

You need to declare your co op cashminder account on the BR forms. We put a note against ours that it was a basic account for use after going BR, but when the OR phoned us on the day of BR for a quick chat he asked us if we had an account to use for wages, bills etc and said that he would have no interest in it and would advise the co op accordingly. The account was not frozen and to be honest I don't think I have read any posts where the co op cashminder is actually frozen post BR. If that happens a quick call to your OR would get it sorted. Only heard of the Brighton OR closing cashminder accounts opened pre BR !!
