Good to know catht - do they expire though? And do you know if it is easy to increase/decrease the amount you pay?
Had doctor's appointment, was pleased to have the one sympathetic doctor in the whole surgery! After talking through the consultants letter, I now have a month's supply of doselupin. It is a tricyclic antidepressant, as well as being a migraine preventative. I am very nervous about taking it. Had my first dose last night, and have woken up with the driest mouth and feeling extremely dopey! Hope the side effects improve in time for work. I start off on a small dose - 25mg - and build up to 200mg over the course of the next month or so.
I saw a job advertised I would love to do - OH thinks I should go for it - but I feel so unwell at the minute that I really don't feel I could change job. It would be a step up, and I really don't think I could cope with the responsibility. So I think I am going to leave it - is that a sensible decision??
Bought a pre paid prescription certificate yesterday, £104 by dd over 10 months, means I don't have to pay any charges on medicines for a year. Considering this year I've already paid £30 in charges I think it should work out cheaper, and also easier. I had two prescriptions to pick up yesterday, so have already saved over £15.
This weekend we are going to south coast to see OH's mum. Have a few hours at home first. Plan is:
* put clean laundry away
* hoover house
* sort out keys for friend who is moving in (this might just mean leaving my set with the neighbours)
* go to wool shop either here or in Eastbourne to get some stuff to crochet!
Apart from that just need to relax and survive the MIL :rotfl:! Happy mother's day all you mums out there. DD is at her dad's this weekendbut gave me a lovely picture she had made.

Hi MW I think that it is difficult to start a new job when you feel 100% so it will be very hard when you feel so unwell. You also need to really want it and it doesn't sound like you do. I would wait until you see how you feel when the drugs are working.
I hope that you had a good week-end at the in laws and hit the wool shop, mind Eastbourne is the queen of charity shops town so you may have done well there? I bought a lovely tin full of buttons and lace there once.
Sounds like you are ready for crocheting!0 -
Hey mw
sounds like a good weekend
on the job front I think Id agree and say go with your gut instinct on whether its for you at the moment.... I think some time on the new meds and learning to manage and identify triggers for you migraines etc.. could be a good idea- even if you start a new job physically okay , sometimes what illness takes out of you in confidence can really affect you and can then be a viscious cycle with stress/anxiety taking its toll on your existing health issues! just my two cents and certainly how I wouldve felt in the same situation ...
hope you had a good mothers day0 -
Hope the new medication works for you, just looked it up and it seems it could be effective in preventing your migraines. Dry mouth was listed as the very first side effect too. Hopefully that will ease as your body gets used to them.
Re: childcare vouchers, i'm not sure about expiry date but could see if it says anything in my online account. I think it depends on your employer about how you amend the amount, DH's previous employer was flexible (you just rang them the month before) whereas mine require more written notice. This is something i need to look into aswell as I am hoping to get nursery fees help with CTC this year. I hope i can either find my paperwork or find the policy when i go to work!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Hope you are feeling a bit better today? I agree with going with your instincts on the job - health is the most important thing...

Hi love just popping in to say hi :wave:. I agree that starting a new job can be very stressfull and tiring as well with everything new that you have to learn. I'm usually all for the 'take a chance' side of any equation but I think you've made the right choice right now.

Thanks all, definitely think not taking on anything new for the next few months is the right idea.
Yesterday I was up north for an event run by the committee I'm on. Had to get up at 530 am and not home until gone 9pm :eek:! I was asked if I'd like to stay on the committee for another year when my term runs out in October but politely declined, due to health reasons. Am proud of myself for saying no. Extremely tired today as a result of trip and also due to new meds, I am meant to be finishing an already overdue article but don't have the energy
not sure when can finish it. DD was v upset this evening so have spent the time giving her hugs and listening to all her worries.
toots didn't have enough time on the Saturday for the charity shops, more's the pity, but did make it to wool shop. Bought a beginners guide to knitting and crochet, a hook and some wool for about £6 and spent the evening at MIL's practicing my crochet. Can now do not bad double, treble and half treble crochet
, next step is a VERY easy pattern, if anyone can suggest one online that would be much appreciated. Bought MIL a Sunday lunch out (£50) but not much spent apart from petrol other than that. We are trying to stretch the food in the fridge and freezer out from the other week, so no food shopping so far. OH making a veg stirfry right now, smells great!
Had £9.93 land from tcb into fd account, so have op'ed that off the mortgage.
Saw specialist again today, have MRI scan appointment to come through to rule out any other cause of migraines. And is going to recommend another triptan with a longer half life which may work better on my aura. Is likely I will be on meds for quite some timeMortgage [STRIKE]16/03/2011: £190K 01/01/2017: £107,729.65 [/STRIKE] 01/07/2017: £95,979.89

Well whilst you may be on the meds for a while if they work it will be worth it long term, I know this is trite but I think it is also true. If you spend the next year getting into better health and having good times with your OH and daughter that will be a year very well spent. Glad that you have started hooking away I am obsessed by the lady on attic24, she makes lovely things and I want to move into her house!
As you can see I have jet lag I have been wide awake since 4.30 The bad thing about this is that I have bought a dining table on Ebay (from Heals) for £100, woo hoo. I love those guys in Fulham who move house all the time. My next plan is a 70s Ercol table for the kitchen when I see one for below £200 with at least four chairs. I also want a 70s Ercol day bed for the kitchen and am keeping my eyes peeled. I have just been paid a piece of free lance work completed in January so I can get a few bits from my list of wants.0 -
Great, I am now really inspired to start relearning knitting again. I always think I am so rubbish that I can't do anything, but if I start slowly, maybe I can do it.
